A furnace that quits on a cold night, an air conditioner that dies with a burning smell coming off it — those are the calls Prime Build & Comfort gets, and the reviews that follow keep coming back to the same two words: same day. The Whitman company's site describes an HVAC outfit that sells and installs replacement air-conditioning systems across Greater Boston and the South Shore, handles Mass Save rebate paperwork and offers financing. Its Thumbtack profile lists four years in business and 119 hires. Robert is the name customers use most. In a March 2026 review, a homeowner's furnace stopped during a very cold night; the crew came out quickly, diagnosed it and had it running again the same day, and the price was described as fair. A July 2026 customer called about a dead AC and had both the AC and the furnace replaced in one day — and was let use a portable AC unit in the meantime. Another July 2026 caller started small, a duct repair at a Rhode Island summer house, then hired them to replace the furnace and AC system too. On Thumbtack the company averages 4.9 across 93 ratings. The work isn't all emergencies. A June 2026 review covers a new range hood and dryer vent. In an October 2025 review, a Hanson homeowner had an old oil heating system replaced with an electric one; a November 2025 Thumbtack customer had attic ductwork repaired the same day at what they called a fair price. An Angi reviewer in January 2026 had a mini-split problem diagnosed quickly where others had failed, traced to refrigerant levels and fixed on the spot. Two moments say something about how they work. A March 2026 boiler call ended with the problem repaired and, in that customer's words, no push toward unnecessary replacements. In April 2026, someone who only asked for advice about installing a ceiling exhaust fan was sent a detailed video of the installation and walked through the steps. Before booking a replacement, sort out the paperwork side. The company's site lists MA HIC #217227 and cites EPA 608 Universal certification, and its Thumbtack listing says HVAC installations are permitted and completed in compliance with Massachusetts requirements, in partnership with a licensed HVAC contractor — so ask who is pulling the permit and whose licence the job runs under. For a heating or cooling system that has already failed, this is a shop that answers the phone and tends to be there the same day.
