Pro Comfort Control is a Framingham, MA outfit homeowners call for two things above all: getting a fussy old heating system running again, and swapping it for a Mitsubishi ductless heat pump that actually fits their home. A Reddit thread in r/massachusetts singled them out as one of the few local shops doing Mitsubishi mini-split work, and the company's own site says it has served MetroWest towns for over 20 years under owner Ryan McKernan. The volume backs that up: 4.9 stars across 470 Google ratings and a BBB A+ rating, with accreditation dating to October 2020. What stands out in the reviews isn't just the star count but the process — customers keep naming specific office staff (Nicole, Amanda) and installers (Pat, Alex, Thad, Cooper, Josh) who walked them through MassSave rebates and financing on heat-pump conversions, and several describe multi-zone ductless installs and full boiler-to-heat-pump swaps. The written record runs back to 2021, when an Angi reviewer recalled Ryan personally converting an old oil boiler to a high-efficiency gas system — the current wave of five-star ratings looks like a continuation of that history, not a recent streak in isolation. Not every account is glowing. A 2026 Reddit poster said the owner was difficult to deal with when they needed a warranty issue fixed, even while crediting the company's mini-split expertise — worth weighing if you expect an easy post-install relationship. A two-star Google review from April 2026 described a scope mismatch: the customer asked for a concealed, attic-mounted ducted mini-split but says the crew kept proposing wall-mounted units instead. There's also a wrinkle in who runs the place: one older business profile describes a husband-and-wife co-ownership, while the company's own site and its reviews consistently name Ryan McKernan (with a Patrick McKernan also mentioned in one review) as the owner — the sources here don't fully agree on the exact ownership picture. Pro Comfort Control looks like the right call for a MetroWest homeowner planning a heat pump or ductless mini-split conversion, especially one navigating MassSave rebates, or anyone with an aging boiler who wants a straight assessment before replacing it. Before booking, it's worth spelling out the exact configuration you want — ducted versus wall-mounted — in writing, and asking how they'd handle a callback if something needs fixing after the crew leaves.
“i used pro comfort control. they seem to do everyone’s around here. Honestly, i wouldn’t use them again as the owner is a bit of an ass and was very difficult to get him to fix an issue that they caused. That being said, they’re one of the only companies out here doing mitsubishi so ym”

Great job by Pro Comfort from analysis, inspection, installation and more importantly making it an easy stress free process. The new water heater looks great, thanks! Mike Santiago and Owen was great to work with.
I cannot say enough good things about Ryan and his team at Pro Comfort Control\. Everyone—including the office staff—was professional, responsive, and helpful\. They promptly returned my calls, explained how to proceed, and answered all of my questions\. I initially contacted the company because my air\-conditioning system was not working\. When the technicians entered my utility room, they noticed that my water heater was in dangerous condition and needed to be replaced immediately\. They explained that it should be my first priority because a failure could release 40 gallons of water into my finished basement\. I greatly appreciate their attentiveness and honesty in alerting me to the problem\. I was able to have the water heater replaced by a plumber before moving forward with the air\-conditioning work\. Ryan then returned, toured our home, reviewed the system’s specifications, and discussed our options, including replacing the air conditioner or installing a heat\-pump system\. After carefully considering his advice, my wife and I decided to replace the air\-conditioning system\. The installation team arrived on time and was polite, professional, and efficient\. They completed the work within a remarkably short period of time\. I highly recommend Ryan and the entire Pro Comfort Control team to anyone needing heating or air\-conditioning services\. Jim Boyle
Great experience with Pro Choice! The technician was very knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to show me the issues and explain everything in detail. I really appreciated how thorough he was and never felt rushed. I would for sure use Pro Choice again and definitely recommend them!
I reached out to Amanda with a few concerns about my Mitsubishi ductless mini-split system, and she was incredibly helpful. She scheduled Mike to come out the very next day. He did a thorough job cleaning my bedroom wall unit, and they are even upgrading my old Wi-Fi adapters to the new models so my system works seamlessly with the latest comfort app. It’s clear this team takes pride in what they do—they actually listen (thank you Nicole) and go the extra mile to solve problems that other companies might write off as too difficult. You are in great hands with this business.
I cannot recommend Pro Comfort cleaning service enough! The split AC units weren't cooling as fast as they used to. The technician Dwane arrived right on time, explained the deep-cleaning process, and took great care to protect the floors and walls while washing the indoor heads and blower wheels. The amount of hidden buildup they flushed out was unbelievable—it looked brand new when they finished. Now, the airflow is twice as strong, and the units are running super.
