Pro-Tec Exterminating is a one-person Roxbury pest control operation that covers all of Massachusetts, and the customers who have written about it write about one person: David. In a 2025 review, a non-profit that had used the company for about two years said David was "always readily available same-day or within the next few days" and had "truly controlled our mouse & roach problem". Another customer in late 2025 made a point of the sales approach — they "didnt try to upcharge, just give me what I need". That is the whole written record: two reviews behind a 4.5 average across six Google ratings. The work is ordinary residential and commercial pest control — termites, cockroaches, ants, bed bugs and rodents — with child- and pet-safe products offered, and the BBB grades the business A+ with nothing on its complaint file. Two things on the company's own site do not match what BBB publishes, and both are worth raising directly. The site displays a "BBB Accredited Business" line, but BBB's own profile states the business is NOT accredited. The site also claims 35 years, while BBB records the LLC as incorporated in January 2016 with ten years in business — the 35 may describe the owner's own career rather than the company's. For a small job where you want the owner himself turning up, the reviews say that is what you get. Ask about licensing for pesticide application before booking, and take the accreditation line on the website as a question rather than a credential.
