In February 2024 a customer's water heater exploded in the middle of the night, and Puleo Plumbing & Heating sent two plumbers the next day to replace it, fixing an annoying faucet while they were there. The Marblehead company says it has served Marblehead, Swampscott, Salem and the North Shore since 2004, run by owner Scott Puleo, a licensed Master Plumber, and lists oil-to-gas conversions, water heaters, boiler services and 24-hour emergency plumbing. Its Massachusetts plumber license, 3209-PL-C, is active in the company's name. In a March 2023 review, a customer called, the receptionist ordered the water heater and set the appointment, and the technician came the next day, on time. A 2016 Angi customer had a new direct vent water heater installed 24 hours after first talking with Josh, with the old leaking one hauled away and no surprise costs; the crew came back right away to caulk an exterior vent cap they had forgotten. In November 2023 a customer called about an emergency water leak in their basement, and Josh sent two workers, Cutter and Chris, right away; the customer came home to a clean basement. In January 2024 Tyler replaced a customer's bathroom faucet. In January 2025 Matthias installed a customer's existing toilet tank on a new comfort-height bowl. In a 2020 Angi review, a customer noted the company did not want a deposit well in advance of the installation, as two other companies had. A March 2025 Reddit commenter in r/salemma said they had used the company for years at very reasonable rates. In January 2024 a customer gave one star after the company came six times to fix their heater, and each time it stopped working within an hour after they left. In a 2010 Angi review, a customer whose online-bought faucet began dripping from the sprayer said the installer declined to help, insisting it came from Home Depot when it had not. In May 2026 a reviewer gave one star after seeing an employee, Lou, on social media celebrating the death of State Trooper Trainor. BuildZoom lists Plumbing Business license #3209, Plumber license #15342 and license #30133, along with 211 permitted projects. Puleo holds 4.6 stars from 18 Google ratings and 4.6 from 21 on Angi and HomeAdvisor.

I was absolutely appalled to see one of their employees, Lou, celebrating the death of local hero and fallen State Trooper Trainor on social media while simultaneously attempting to smear his name. Regardless of personal opinions, publicly mocking or disparaging someone who gave their life in service to the community reflects extremely poor judgment and a serious lack of professionalism. A business is ultimately represented by the conduct of its employees, both in and outside the workplace, and this behavior raises major concerns about the company’s values and standards. I hope management takes this matter seriously and addresses it appropriately, because conduct like this damages public trust and reflects poorly on the organization as a whole.

Can not recommend enough! Our water heater exploded in the middle of the night.... They were immediately helpful and reassuring. They sent out two plumbers the next day to replace our heater and even fixed an annoying faucet while they were here! They were super friendly, clean, and explained everything along the way! 10 outta 10!
