Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Redman Construction. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

Redman Construction has 192 permitted projects listed on BuildZoom, including 33 in the last three years, with much of the recent work involving kitchens and larger home remodels. The Hanover contractor handles general contracting, additions, bathrooms, decks and porches; BBB names Joseph Redman as owner. Massachusetts HIC registration 174845 is active in the state registry. The written history has strong praise for finished work and a recurring caution about estimates and billing. A 2026 Google reviewer said the completed project looked very good and the crew was professional, but called the billing unacceptable. In a 2022 Angi review, a customer said the final bill for a door and trim job was 61% above the quote. A 2023 Angi customer praised a bathroom remodel as neat and efficient and said the final cost matched the estimate. Some older accounts describe coordination issues: a 2023 Google reviewer says they never received the promised estimate for retaining-wall work, and a 2017 HomeAdvisor reviewer reported having to repeat project plans to subcontractors. By contrast, a 2019 HomeAdvisor review describes a smooth kitchen-and-dining-room gut renovation. BuildZoom lists construction supervisor license CS-059706 as active, but that status comes from the directory; the state-verified credential here is the HIC registration. For a major remodel, Redman’s permit history and broad project mix are relevant, but put the scope, quote, approval process for changes and subcontractor coordination in writing before work begins.
We hired this contractor and, to be fair, the quality of the work itself was very good. The finished project looks great, and the crew clearly knows what they’re doing. Everyone we encountered was kind and professional. That said, the billing was completely unacceptable. The final invoice came in at nearly double the original estimate, even though the project did not change in scope. There were no major additions, no unexpected issues, and no clear communication that costs were increasing along the way. Getting a bill that far off from the estimate without explanation feels misleading at best. An estimate should be reasonably close to the final cost—not off by such a huge margin with no warning. If there had been transparency or ongoing communication about pricing changes, this would be a very different review. Proceed with caution. The workmanship may be solid, but make sure you get everything in writing and demand clear, upfront communication about costs, because that was a major failure here.
Very responsive and knowledgeable. They know all the components and referred us to the additional contractors that we needed to complete the job. Outstanding
Jim and the crew at Redman Construction Inc are all top shelf. They did an excellent job on a bathroom remodel. They were neat, courteous, and efficient as well as fair and reasonable with pricing. To the penny on their estimate. Great job from start to finish.
I needed my retainer wall either replaced or repaired, Redmond came out to look at it. I was told they would get back to me with a price. I never heard back from them.
My husband and I received a quote from Redman Construction, for a side door installation and outer house trim replacement, which we agreed upon. When the work was completed, we were sent a bill that was 61% above the quote cost. We were never approached or contacted by Redman that the man hours or cost of supplies were being increased. We were frankly shocked when we received the bill. We were quoted a cost of $7,975.00 and we were billed $13,208.07. This, in my opinion was a deception in the cost quote and price gouging in the final billing statement. My husband and I will never use this company again. The final work was mediocre. The door replaced, is difficult to lock and squeaks when closing. I feel cheated.
