I hired Restoration 1 for a job and, unfortunately, I made the mistake of signing a contract before receiving a quote for the estimated cost of the work. I was not overly concerned at the time because I was told they regularly work with insurance companies, and I felt comfortable knowing my insurance and their team would communicate directly to resolve and cover everything appropriately. I was also assured that if I decided not to move forward, I had the right to cancel within two days. After reviewing everything with my private insurance adjuster, I was advised not to proceed due to concerns with their business practices and the extremely high costs being presented. You can see other negative reviews on here that also reference the extremely high costs I am referring to. I exercised my right to cancel within the two-day period, as I was told I could. Despite cancelling, Restoration 1 later billed me thousands of dollars for services that were never performed and ultimately sent the disputed balance to collections. The only services actually provided were the delivery of dehumidifiers and an outsourced asbestos report. I had always been willing to pay a fair and reasonable amount for the services that were actually completed once the invoice was properly adjusted, but the amount being demanded was completely unreasonable. Throughout this entire process, Restoration 1 was in communication with my private adjuster, who was actively working on my behalf to dispute the extremely high charges and resolve the situation. They were fully aware that this bill was being disputed, yet they still chose to send it to collections rather than work toward a fair resolution. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and stressful. I expected a company that works with insurance claims to handle the process professionally and transparently, but instead I feel I was pressured into a contract, billed for work that was not completed, and forced to deal with collections over a disputed amount. I strongly encourage anyone considering Restoration 1 to do extensive research, ask for a full written estimate before signing anything, and carefully review all terms. My experience has been extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend this company based on how this situation was handled. I would rate 0 stars if I could. Their business practices are predatory. We ultimately used PuroClean for the job who I would highly recommend.
Super responsive on Saturday morning to our flood situation. Thoroughly explained the process and the services offered. Flexible to our needs when it came to choosing the demo/remodel options. Would recommend Brian and his team to anyone needing their service.
So far so good
Great folks and super accommodating.
They were quick to respond and that is all that was good. We had water in our basement on the weekend. The charge was 3 times what the insurance company said it should have been. We also have a 3rd party quote after, and they agreed with the excess charges. They sent 1 person out for initial call but charged for multiple people and for equipment that was not used. when asked about the excess labor charges the email reply said they only had 1 tech to respond who was a supervisor so he would get a higher rate. then in the next sentence said if additional techs did show up, they would be entitled to compensation. Billing department was rude and harassing sending past due notices to me while waiting for the insurance claim. I would avoid this company at all cost!
