Revolution Construction

Job: New hardwood floors, new baseboard, new doors / jambs, new trim and painting the walls Summary: While Revolution Construction did complete the job in a reasonable amount of time, the fit and finish was quite low. Painting was a particularly weak point, and in my opinion, the final painting quality is below DIY, especially since no flooring protection was used. I appreciated that the owner didn’t argue on redoing anything, but he sent the same people to do the fixing, so the improvement was marginal. Overall I am dissatisfied with the quality of work and wouldn’t choose to work with Revolution Construction again. Pros: - Work was being done just about every day since demo started - Price was on the lower side Cons: - Some things needed to be redone 2-3 times to be acceptable. - After the floors were installed, no flooring protection was put down. This resulted in scrapes and dents, but more importantly paint drops and splatters on the entire floor (see blue tape picture). - Painting and caulking were especially poor. The trim and doors are visibly bumpy and rough to the touch from the wrong roller being used. - The owner personally measured two cabinet doors after the wrong size and style were ordered. The second doors were still the wrong style and wrong size, so I decided to finish this part of the project myself since this wasted several months. - Subbed out solid core doors with hollow core ones without explaining the replacements were hollow core. - Workers came unprepared several times. I had to lend a painter a brush and lend carpenters a ladder. Without these, they wouldn’t have been able to get any work done those days.

Revolution construction was very professional and easy to work with. They completely renovated two baths and did some work in a crawl space for us. We are very happy with the results. Even when there was a miscommunication about grout color and some paint issues , the crew came back and fixed the issue in a timely manner!
