Riverwood Furniture Design makes custom furniture in Melrose, MA. A 2025 article on themelrosemessenger.org called it a newer enterprise for Cornacchini, who had recently been doing it full-time and used exotic woods to create unique furniture pieces. Its website says the process starts with a free consultation, then design, and once the design is approved, an estimate to produce and deliver the piece. In August 2026, Paul turned leftover wood of about 300 years old from a foundation project at an 1830s home into a piece of furniture, with accents made to the natural wood character. In May 2026, Paul designed and built a custom cutting board, including engraving, as a bridal shower gift. In April 2026, a bespoke bedside table for a bedroom with issues with cords for routers drew the comment "This nailed it!" In February 2026, Paul made two red cedar wood lamps and kept the project within budget. In January 2026, Paul worked out wood choices, sizing and style for a banquet table in a renovated dining room, and matched a countertop for the dining room cabinets and a fireplace mantle. In 2025, a cherry banquet table built from a template Paul brought to a woods warehouse was delivered on moving-in day, a "perfect fit." Also in 2025, Riverwood made a black walnut coffee table for a family room.

What is a 1830s homeowner to do with leftover ~300 year old wood after a foundation project? Hire a woodworker to make an amazing piece of furniture which turns heads and holds a story, of course! Paul married top notch work with top notch professionalism to successfully make our woodworking vision a reality. Everything from the accents made to natural wood character, to the color and personal flair came out just as we hoped. Give Paul a shout if you are looking to repurpose some sentimental wood for furniture!
I reached out to Paul to design and build a custom cutting board, including engraving, as a bridal shower gift for my daughter. Paul provided extremely professional and friendly communication from start to finish. The end product is a uniquely beautiful and functional gift that my daughter loves and will treasure for years. Paul's pride of craftsmanship truly shines through in his work - I am happy to highly recommend Riverwood Furniture Design!
Gorgeous bespoke bedside table. We were having issues with cords for routers, etc in the bedroom and wanted something elegant and purposeful. This nailed it!
Paul made me two beautiful red cedar wood lamps and kept the project within my budget. I didn't want to buy something plastic, fake, or cheap from a big box store, and was psyched to find Paul and his workshop at a local art fair. He told me the wood came from his brother's yard from a downed tree. Don't you just love pieces that have a story? These are going to be in my family for generations. Paul was friendly, easy to work with, and open to my ideas. It was a seamless process.
