In September 2026 a Google reviewer wrote that RSR Residential's estimate beat the big companies by thousands of dollars, and that Tony's crew stripped two previous layers of shingles, added a layer of plywood and laid CertainTeed shingles in two days, which solved their kitchen leak. That customer named Tom in sales and John, the project manager, who pitched in with the crew when he wasn't documenting progress with his drone. RSR is based in Mystic, its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0671091, is active with the state under RSR RESIDENTIAL LLC, and BBB grades it A+. On Google it holds 5 stars from 53 ratings. In an August 2026 review, a homeowner wrote that RSR replaced the storm-damaged roof of their 25-year-old two-story home in May 2026, with a drone inspection, a written contract naming the shingle type and manufacturer, and work and documentation that met their insurance agent's requirements. A September 9, 2026 reviewer wrote that the crew showed up early and stripped and reshingled the roof the same day with a project manager on site. In November 2025 a Gales Ferry customer wrote that Rob Rich went up into the attic to address their concerns, that additional discoveries once the shingles came off were reasonably priced and written into the contract, and that the project was completed in one day. A December 2025 reviewer had their siding and roof done after estimator Tom T. suggested colors and materials. In a June 2025 review, a customer wrote that the crew did the job well but that of two items to be taken care of afterward, repeated communications got one done and not the other. In February 2025 a customer with roof and ventilation problems wrote that Rob found the cause, fixed it at a reasonable cost, and stayed the whole job with his project manager.
Very happy with this company. Tom and his crew were very responsive, and did a fantastic job installing our new roof. They provided a very detailed review of what the installation entailed. Photos and drone video provided to show the completed roof. As a local company in Mystic we highly recommend getting your next roof installed by RSR.
First of all, RSR beat the big boys by thousands of dollars with their estimate, while offering first-rate materials, and a 50-year warranty. Next, everyone from sales, project, and labor teams were friendly, professional, and great at their jobs. Last but not least, we have a beautiful new roof that was installed in 2-days, looks great, and since it rained like crazy for the whole day yesterday, we know it solved our kitchen leak. Tom (sales) gave us the estimate. He was a contractor himself for years, and does RSR credit with his representation. No BS here—Tom took a quarter of the time the big corporate reps took to get us numbers, and responded right away with a quote in writing, and we were able to digitally sign the agreement online. Tom returned in a day or so after signature with samples, and to collect a deposit. The whole thing was super easy. John (project manager) was also super friendly and professional, and wasn't just a stand-around guy, pitching in to assist the labor crew when he wasn't documenting progress with his drone and on calls regarding other customers and duties. Tony (the foreman for the labor team) was friendly and professional. You could tell that he and his team had done hundreds of jobs together. They stripped two previous layers of shingles, added a layer of plywood, then all the sealing, boots, and CertainTeed roof shingles to give us a great looking 50-year roof. Bonus: they have a partner solar company, so if you buy a new roof from them, and you are interested in solar you can get a quote from a company whose installation will not void your roof warranty. Highly recommended.
RSR was great. Showed up early, stripped the roof and finished installation of new shingles the same day. There was a project manager on site the whole time. They did a great job cleaning up and couldn’t even tell they had been there. The dumpster with the old shingles and their supply trailer was picked up the next day. They also took great care the whole time not to cause any damage while they were there.
I had RSR Residential replace my roof in May 2026, after storm damage, on a 25 year old 2-story home with 2 dormers and attached garage. RSR was recommended by a worker who had done excellent work on my house, and every interaction with RSR lived up to the highest expectations. They scheduled a drone inspection quickly, and were in agreement with 2 other roof inspections that a full replacement was needed. They quickly provided a written contract with full details of the work, including the shingle-type and manufacturer (well reviewed by others on-line and at my local building supply), and written warranty (for both material and workmanship). Their work and documentation met all the requirements for my insurance agent. They scheduled the work within 2 weeks, and kept to the schedule. They provided all the information and photos needed by the town building inspector. They answered emails within 24 hr, and answered phone-calls in person immediately, following through on all questions and commitments. They left the property spotless, including the plantings near the house. I highly recommend RSR Residential for their courtesy, professionalism and timeliness. They turned worry into relief.
I was so nervous about starting the project. The guys Jon and Rob made it so easy, Explained everything. Easy too talk to. Great pricing. Done in one day, they left no mess behind.
