Ryan's Floor Service is a flooring contractor at 19 Blake St in Quincy, Massachusetts, going by both Ryan's Floor Service and Ryan Flooring. There isn't much history to go on yet. Google shows just two ratings averaging three stars, and the one written review left about them — from a repeat customer — describes service that had slipped compared to earlier visits, not a single bad experience out of nowhere. That's the main thing worth asking about directly: how the crew has performed on jobs more recently, and whether the concerns that customer raised still apply. With so few reviews online, a couple of current references would tell a homeowner more than what's visible now. Given how little is out there about their recent work, this is a company to vet carefully rather than book on reputation alone — ask for recent references and a clear scope of work before committing.

I have engaged Ryan Flooring in Quincy on three occasions, but unfortunately, I've noticed a decline in their service quality over time.

The first experience, approximately 18 years ago. They provided a prompt and reasonable quote. The work was exceptional with a flawless installation of new hardwood floors, earning them a 5-star rating.

About 10 years later, the second engagement was less satisfactory. While they initially charged for the quote, she refunded the fee upon project completion. However, they used some chipped hardwood planks and failed to rectify the imperfections after sealing, resulting in noticeable flaws.

Most recently, in June/July 2024, I contacted them to repair a scratch on the hallway floor. They promised to sand and coat the entire hallway but instead, they performed quick patchwork on the scratched area and left within 30 minutes, leaving a visibly uneven finish. Despite clarifying with them and having him return to do the full job, they repeated the patchwork and departed in just 20 minutes without resolving the issue. Attempts to resolve this with them after that were unsuccessful and they stopped responding.

As a result, I had to seek assistance from another flooring company to complete the job satisfactorily. Based on these experiences, I would caution others against using their services and suggest going for better quality and reliable service elsewhere.
