Seaport Shutter Co is a Brewster shop building custom wood storm and screen doors, shutters and Adirondack chairs. A Cape Cod Life article describes a team of craftsmen making custom screen and storm doors, exterior and interior shutters, Adirondack chairs and signs, and a 2023 Cape Cod Life piece said the Brewster and Chatham based business had launched custom mahogany screen and storm porch panels. Its Better Business Bureau grade is A+. One recent Google reviewer with a historic home had spent a decade looking for a hardwood storm door custom made for a large door frame, with a middle rail matching the French door behind it. The finished door has screens and glass panels top and bottom and quality hardware. That same customer said it took much longer than promised to receive, communication was sparse during the wait, and a measuring mistake on the company's part meant the door did not fit; the company took it back to the workshop and reconfigured it to the proper measurements rather than shaving off the edges. Another recent review, written to Lauren, says the door was installed even early. A recent storm-door customer credits Lauren and the Seaport install team from initial measurements through design selection, construction and installation. A customer of Seaport Shutter and its sister company Nautique for over 20 years keeps coming back for Adirondack chairs, and says that when chairs need touching up, the company picks them up and delivers them back in brand new condition. In a 2025 Google review, a customer in New York ordered a custom storm door over the phone; Lauren advised on style, Peter spoke directly with the customer's carpenter to make sure the measurements were right, and the door was shipped via FedEx. That customer noted that all doors are made to order and take several weeks. In another 2025 review, a customer described the installation of a custom-colored mahogany door with a starfish cutout at their New Seabury home. In a 2017 Houzz review, a customer with a home on the ocean said Seaport built and installed exterior shutters to replace failed composite shutters from another company, and that the shutters had stood up to the elements.
“Now, the Brewster and Chatham based business has launched a new product line: Custom Mahogany Screen and Storm Porch Panels.”
“The team of craftsmen make Custom Screen and Storm Doors, Exterior and Interior Shutters, Adirondack Chairs and Signs that will transform clients’ homes into thoughtfully tailored spaces.”
We have been customers of Seaport Shutter Company and its sister company Nautique for over 20 years. We continue to come back to Seaport Shutter to make their incredible adirondack chairs for our growing family. These chairs have become cherished heirlooms! We have also purchased many custom full-size adirondack chairs from Seaport Shutter. Their quality is exceptional and you will not find any better. If the chairs need to be touched up, they come and pick the chairs up and deliver them back in brand new condition. Customer Service is OUTSTANDING! They always meet the timeline that is given for a particular item. TRULY the VERY BEST!!!!!
We have been living with our new storm door for the past month and have been super pleased with it. To be fair, anything would have been an improvement on the horrible aluminum/plexiglass storm door that slammed on us for a decade. In that decade I kept searching for a way to get a hardwood storm door custom made to fit the large door frame of our historic home. And I was picky that it needed to be custom so that the middle rail in the storm door would match the cross sections of the french door behind it. I was thrilled to find Seaport Shutter Company in the end. Their final product was exactly what I was hoping for - sturdy hardwood, screens and glass panels for top & bottom so we can finally capture more air flow in our front hallway, and quality hardware for a smooth open/close. It took so much longer to receive the final door than promised, and communication is sparse while you wait, however I would go through the wait ten times over for a product that matches this quality and care. There was even a mistake on the company's part in measuring the door frame so the finished product came and didn't fit the space. I respect that they did NOT cut corners by shaving off the edges or any quick workaround to make it fit that day. They took our door back to the workshop and reconfigured it fully to match the proper measurements. Bravo for a job well done. I'd recommend this company to any friend or family needing a top quality historically suited hardwood door, and I would return myself in a heartbeat if we need additional custom doors. Thank you for the lovely finished product.
Hi Lauren. You probably know already, but the door has been installed even early. It is so so beautiful and I am beyond happy. Thank you and your team. You made my day. I just love it so much. It makes my house. I can’t believe I own this door. Thank thank you again for everything.
We couldn't be happier with our storm doors. It was a pleasure to work with Lauren and the Seaport install team from initial measurements through design selection, construction, and installation. The craftsmanship and quality is impeccable and the doors are built to last. They're both a beautiful addition to our home and important protection from coastal storms.
I had been wanting a wood storm door for a long time. The quality offered by local NY door shops just didn’t meet my standards. I found Seaport Shutters online and took a leap of faith; I ordered my custom storm door over the phone. The staff at Seaport Shutters were all courteous and helpful. Lauren offered thoughtful advise on what style suited my front door. Peter spoke directly with my carpenter, to ensure the measurements were done correctly. The door was shipped to me in NY via Fed Ex. They made themselves available to my carpenter on the day of installing. My carpenter found them highly professional and told me the product was of extremely high quality. I’m so glad I went with a custom door and thankful to have discovered Seaport Shutters. All doors are made to order, so it does take several weeks to get your door, but it’s definitely worth the wait! I love my new storm door and have received many compliments!
