A hallway and three sets of stairs in hardwood that had gone 30 years without refinishing: in October 2024 a customer had them sanded, stained and coated in a water-based polyurethane, satin, matched to the colour of the entry-way floor, and called the work meticulously performed. Silver Mass General Flooring works out of Pleasant Street in Framingham. Its listings cover hardwood installation, sanding and refinishing, vinyl, laminate and tile, and the Angi profile describes 12 years of experience. Old houses turn up more than once: a March 2024 customer with an older place full of challenges said the floors came out beautifully, and that the house was left clean and free of dust at the end of every day until the job was done. Another that month said the team was responsive and helped choose the stain. The newer notes are short. In April 2026 a customer called the company easy to work with, the prices good and the result gorgeous; in March 2026 another described a detail-oriented crew and flooring done properly. Then there is the other side of the record, and it deserves your attention. In March 2024 an Angi customer wrote that the crew forgot to finish the floor and asked to be paid anyway; on the return visit, that customer says they put holes in the wall, and describes gaps in the floor you could fit two quarters into, plus cracks. That one review is the entire rating on both Angi and HomeAdvisor, where the company sits at 0.5 stars, against 4.8 from 23 ratings on Google. A May 2025 Google reviewer wrote only that they were rude and unprofessional. For sanding and refinishing existing hardwood — especially in an old house where the floors have gone decades — several customers describe work done carefully and cleanly. Before you book, put in writing what counts as finished: the number of coats, the sheen, and a walk-through of the whole floor before the final payment.
