Tetra's Google page holds a 4.6-star average across 196 ratings, and reading through them turns up the same story again and again: a crew lands at the house, knocks out a heat pump or mini-split install in a single day, and leaves the place cleaner than they found it. The Newton company runs HVAC replacement as an online broker — it quotes the job, lines up MassSave rebates and financing, then sends a local installer partner to do the physical work under a five-year guarantee. Max Veggeberg is CEO and Aamir Sarwar is COO, and the company describes itself as built to replace the old phone-tag-and-comparison-shopping way of buying HVAC. The mini-split and heat pump installs are what people keep coming back to describe. Reviewers write about crews finishing nine indoor heads in one house, or a compressor with four ceiling and wall units, in a single day — working late with spotlights when the job runs long. Several name specific staff who walked them through the MassSave rebate and no-interest loan paperwork, the part that seems to worry homeowners most and that they're most relieved to have handled for them. Not every job has gone that way. In a June 2025 review, a homeowner said their parents' furnace replacement left carbon monoxide venting down and in rather than outside, with no permit pulled by the city — a safety and code question worth raising directly before signing anything. Two more reviews, from late 2024 and early 2025, describe a subcontracted crew with sloppy work and no single point of contact during scheduling. Its marketing has also drawn complaints: a customer in late 2023 said a mailer upsold instead of quoting what was asked for, one in February 2026 called a mailer that referenced details about the house 'creepy,' and an April 2026 review just calls it a 'spam mail company.' Separately, a Reddit commenter has claimed Tetra recycles leads that HomeWorks Energy's own sales team couldn't close and referenced a wage-and-hour dispute — specifics that can't be checked here, but worth knowing that criticism exists outside the review platforms. The Better Business Bureau rates Tetra A+, and it holds a 4.5-star average on Thumbtack from 95 ratings, both roughly matching the Google numbers. Before booking, ask directly whether Tetra's own crew or a subcontractor is doing the install, and get the permitting and venting question answered in writing. For a straightforward heat pump or mini-split swap run through MassSave, the reviews describe a smooth, well-coordinated process — just don't skip that paperwork.
“Tetra recycles old Homeworks leads that field sales couldn't close & HomeWorks is awful, the owners suck. I think they just lost a big wage and hour case”
“Ps. Homeworks and Tetra is the same crap as Revise.....just heads up”
“Tetra installed my Bryant 284anv heat pump in October for $17000.”
“|Tetra|4|16.2k, drop to 15.2k|”
“Good experience from start to finish and wonderful customer service.”
“Our Mini-Split purchase experience with Tetra has been no less than superior. We dealt with a team dedicated to seamlessly delivering everything we required on time, at the exact price quoted, and with no pressure.”
Workers were excellent. They explained everything they did.cleaned up really good.really easy to talk to.couldnt of asked for a better company. Would definitely recommend them to everyone. Work done couldn't of looked any better.really neat.
The installers were amazing! They left the house cleaner than when they got there, no mess outside, and very quiet. They added an outlet in my basement, an outlet in the backyard, and they soldered a pin hole I had on a water pipe. They really went above and beyond
Everyone was professional and helpful
Outstanding Professional service. Set up / installed Heat Pump as planned. Great and competitive price compared to other contractors’s quote . Did not increase prices after initial quote. I am very appreciative with the great service from Tetra staff ( Muhammad and Dominic). Hopefully, I will receive great service / maintenance service/ warranty after installation. Tetra promises me.
My steam oil system was very old and about to fail so I decided it was time to make a change. I was a nervous about the whole thing, but it turned out very well. It was a big job and the installers were very nice and did a great job. Tetra dealt with MassSave 🙏 and they give a large discount. It's summer now so we're using the AC and it's amazing. Haven't received a electric bill yet, but I'm optimistic it shouldn't be that bad. I was using 3 window units before. Maybe I will give an update in the winter.
