The Heroic Handyman, LLC

Seven pieces of furniture assembled in five hours on a Saturday morning: that is the size of job The Heroic Handyman gets called for, and the kind its Thumbtack customers describe. The Stoneham company is run by husband and wife Michael and Alycia Dattilo, with Michael doing the work and Alycia running the office, and it describes itself as a finish carpentry, deck and wood-rot repair, tile, drywall and furniture-assembly outfit for the towns north of Boston, from Arlington and Medford up through Andover, Danvers and Gloucester. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, issued in April 2026 per BuildZoom. The written history is short, five Thumbtack reviews from late 2023 and early 2024, against a Thumbtack profile showing 5.0 stars across 22 ratings and a Top Pro 2024 badge. In an April 2024 review a homeowner said Mike replaced a rotted wood deck ramp with one the neighbors complimented, after setting price expectations up front. A March 2024 customer had an IKEA closet and a Wayfair kitchen island put together, and a December 2023 reviewer listed fixtures hung, furniture anchored, bookshelves assembled and grout fixed on one visit. A November 2023 customer booked him again on the spot for cabinet doors and an island countertop. Arriving with all his tools, quoting ahead of time and cleaning up are the details that repeat. For furniture assembly, TV mounting, small carpentry repairs and the list of odd jobs that piles up in a house, this is a straightforward call. Ask for the price expectation up front, as reviewers describe getting, and for anything structural like a deck repair, confirm the scope in writing.
