Thomas Home Improvements is a Centerville, Massachusetts exterior remodeling contractor serving the Cape Cod area, run by owner Troy, who reviewers say is on-site for every job. The company's own site frames itself as a roofer first, alongside siding and window and door installation and replacement, and self-reports over 20 years in the trade and GAF-certified-installer status as a roofing manufacturer credential. Customers who hired the company between 2021 and 2025 consistently describe Troy and his crew handling substantial exterior projects: full roof replacements, cedar shingle siding, gutter systems, and in one case seven skylights, with reviewers citing prompt, professional, transparent communication and a willingness to work around a homeowner's schedule. One reviewer, a real estate broker, described Troy's honesty as unusual for Cape Cod contractors and praised a full-service job that also included a new basement bulkhead, interior grab bars, attic safety supports, and a built deck, along with thorough site cleanup. Massachusetts' Home Improvement Contractor registry confirms an active license (HIC #213005) held under Thomas Home Improvements, LLC, matching this business by name. One 2022 review is worth asking about before booking: a homeowner describes being referred to Troy for exterior trim painting, then agreeing to a far more expensive window-wood-replacement scope after Troy said the trim was too damaged to paint, only to find the painting itself was never completed as part of that work. It is the one discordant note in an otherwise strongly positive, detailed review history. For homeowners on Cape Cod weighing a roof, siding, or window and door project, Thomas Home Improvements has a track record of hands-on, owner-led work backed by a verified state license, worth confirming the exact scope and what is included in writing before signing, especially on any job that starts as one trade and expands into another.
Troy and his crew did high-quality work for us: siding, roofing, trim/fascia boards, gutters/covers, new basement bulkhead, and built an amazing deck!!! They also did inside work (grab bars, attic walkway/safety supports. The all-inclusive approach and trash/debris removal was awesome. If you are looking for a one-stop-shop then call Troy.
Troy explained what was necessary for our roof replacement and accommodated our schedule. Competitive pricing and they completed the rood in one day.
Troy was extremely patient with my wife and I, as we took our time going through all the possibilities for the exterior of our home. Troy provided us with multiple quotes, for the various materials we inquired about, and didn’t pressure us in one direction or another. He was upfront about the expected timeline to begin work and stuck to that plan. His team was fantastic and professional the whole job. We are very happy with how our home turned out and would use Troy’s services again.
Navigating the world of labor and materials shortages, Troy and his team were fantastic. I cannot overstate this enough. We hired them to install a roof, gutter system, cedar shingle siding, and 7 skylights. Once we have blue prints in hand, we will have them back to build us our farmer’s porch. The crew was prompt, communicative, and professional. Troy was on site with his crew, completely involved and HONEST. Contractors on Cape Cod will gouge. As a real estate broker, I can promise you, I’ve seen it all. I would recommend Thomas Home Improvements to anyone!!
EXPENSIVE BAIT AND SWITCH... Troy was referred to us when we were looking for a painter for our house trim. He explained to us that the wood on the windows was too damaged and needed to be replaced instead of just painted. My husband and I agreed with him that we will hire him for those windows instead of a regular painter. The cost was over 10 times more than a painter would cost, but we assumed that it would include ALL work on the windows... Well it turned out that he never intended to do any painting, and now that he is done, we still need to get a painter for those windows... Troy says the contract made it clear that he would not paint, but both my husband and I were going by what we discussed with him in person, where it was made clear that we thought he would deliver those windows to us 100% finished, no further work needed. So as far as we are concerned, this is classic BAIT AND SWITCH. Also, he is QUITE EXPENSIVE. We paid about $10K to have him replace three regular windows and one regular door. Nothing fancy at all. Even assuming an exorbitant cost of $1K per item, that leaves $6K for the installation, which was 1.5 days' work.
