Four separate customers describe the same scene: another company quotes a replacement, Mark from Tirana finds the actual fault, and the bill is a fraction of it. In April 2021 a homeowner told $6,000 for a new system had a condenser problem traced for $110. That August another was quoted over $15,000 and turned out to need a $40 component. In June 2021 Mark came out on a Sunday, fixed the unit rather than selling a new air conditioner, and showed the tenant how to handle it next time. And in June 2026 a customer offered either a $1,000 cleaning or a $15,000 replacement got a same-afternoon diagnosis instead: a clogged condensate drain. That is the through-line across 135 ratings averaging 4.9 on Angi and HomeAdvisor, plus a separate 5.0 from 24 on Google. The company works out of Stoneham, and the name in almost every account is Mark's, with a colleague, Vladimir, named alongside him once. The installation side is real too. A June 2022 customer had two outdoor and seven indoor units fitted in two days. In June 2023 another described a Mitsubishi AC and heat-pump system put in by a crew that kept every work area clean. And in November 2020 a homeowner had a furnace replaced along with a duct and vent system designed for the basement, with pipes moved and supplies relocated to reclaim floor space. In February 2026, after another firm broke their heating during a routine inspection and left them without it ahead of a blizzard, a household called Tirana for a second opinion and had it sorted for a fraction of the original quote. Most of the volume sits on one directory network, and the bulk of the accounts are service calls and thermostat swaps rather than whole-system installs — so if you are buying a full system, ask for two recent install addresses. For a diagnosis before you commit to a replacement, this is the number to call first.
One of my central AC units stopped working. A HVAC company did a quick check and recommended either a cleaning for $1,000 or a full replacement for at least $15,000. During my search for additional quotes, I came across Tirana HVAC, which has many outstanding reviews. I called that morning to ask about the cost of replacing the unit. Mark answered the phone. After patiently listening to my description, he suggested that the unit should first be examined to determine whether it could be repaired at a much lower cost. To my surprise, Mark and his colleague came that same afternoon and performed a thorough diagnosis. They discovered that the condensate drain was clogged and that the indoor evaporator unit had shut down due to the drainage issue. They fixed everything quickly and professionally. When it came time to pay, I was surprised that the charge was far lower than expected. Mark and his team are professional, knowledgeable, honest, and genuinely kind. I highly recommend Tirana!
The Tirana team is incredible and quite literally saved our lives this week. Our regular HVAC company came to do a routine inspection this weekend, broke our heating system through negligence and gave us a repair quote for thousands of dollars. They left us without heat before a historic blizzard and had no urgency or care for the danger they were leaving us in. Tirana had done another job for us in the past, so we immediately called them for a second opinion. They helped us resolve the issue as efficiently as possible and charged us a fraction of our initial quote. Tirana is an ethical team that does not upsell or heavily markup their prices like some of the PE-backed companies. We are incredibly impressed with their work.
A few of the wires in my HVAC system burned up because of the recent heatwave, and Tirana was able to come out the same night and fix everything for a price less than many other places charge for their so-called "call out fee". Would highly recommend going with them instead of the bigger name (bloated, overpriced, borderline-scammy) ones in Boston.
Highly recommend Mark and Tirana HVAC - they installed minisplits at our home and they did a perfect job. They were the most reasonably priced company we found and the service was impeccable.
I hired Mark because he was highly recommended by others. My experience was phenomenal. I cannot thank him enough. He always came when he said he would. The job was completed timely everything was cleaned up and to my specifications. Mark was always concerned that I was Pleased with everything he was doing. He explained things very well and I understand how to work the system, he was reasonably priced as I had had many quotes. By far the best contractor I have dealt with in a long time he is the only person I will go to for HVAC ever . You should definitely hire him.
