TJM Plumbing & Heating is a Wakefield shop that's become the default call for a good chunk of its neighborhood — 266 Google ratings averaging five stars, and the same names keep showing up across them: owner Tim, plus techs Craig, Eric, and Steve. Its Massachusetts plumber license is active, and its Better Business Bureau profile carries an A+ grade. The pattern that repeats hardest is speed on the calls that can't wait. A hot water heater dies and Tim sets up an appointment right away, with Craig installing the replacement the next morning. A first-time customer says TJM bailed them out of a drain leak, protecting the area and cleaning up on the way out. In a January 2026 review, a customer described their boiler quitting over the holidays — with the house down to 14 degrees, Tim answered a New Year's Day call and got out to stop the pipes from freezing. And in a 2025 review, a customer said a decades-old steam system that had beaten several previous plumbers finally got fixed — the technician had a solution ready before the customer even finished explaining the clanging, and the heat ran silent a month later. Beyond emergencies, the company handles routine work — garbage disposal swaps, faucet repairs, toilet installs, gas-leak diagnostics, new water heaters — and plenty of reviewers describe using them repeatedly over years; one design-build firm calls TJM its go-to plumbing partner for client projects, praising how well the crew coordinates with its designers. A detail that shows up again and again: text alerts when a tech is on the way, an upfront quote before work starts, and cleanup before leaving. Two complaints interrupt an otherwise glowing record, and both are about price rather than workmanship. A recent review said a gas-leak visit was billed for two hours despite finishing in under one, with the company pointing to a flat, upfront-price policy regardless of how long a job takes. And in a 2024 review, a customer objected sharply to a $100 visit fee plus a $500-700 quote for a bathroom faucet installation, well above prices they'd found listed elsewhere. For an emergency plumbing or heating call, or routine fixture work, TJM is a safe first call in Wakefield — it's worth asking for a firm, itemized number up front given the pricing pushback.
Craig showed up on time, ready for the project and was efficient and effective in getting it done!
TJM was very responsive to questions and providing a reasonable estimate. The guys they sent to look at the job and then install the hot water tank were great. Fingers crossed that there are no future issues but I'm hopeful that TJM would be willing to resolve any problems.
Outdoor faucet broke. Called an had it fixed the sameday Craig was great
Craig was excellent. Thank you Tim and the team.
Yesterday, my hot water heater died! Disaster, right? Nope... not with TJ Plumbing. Tim set up an appointment right away yesterday... and this morning Craig was here. He did his due diligence... and I needed a new hot water heater. He installed it in a short time, and I even got a better quality one than I had before. TJ Plumbing is amazing!!!! Do not hesitate to reach out to them for your plumbing needs.
