That is the shape of this Wakefield company's everyday work — routine HVAC service and system installs for homes and businesses around Greater Boston, done by techs customers ask for by name. Falite Bros. has been at it a long while. The BBB lists it as an accredited business since 1985, its own site claims more than 40 years serving Greater Boston, and its photo gallery includes a 50th anniversary party. Google sits at 4.8 across 239 ratings, Porch at 4.6 across 136, and the BBB grade is A+. Customers stay. A December 2024 reviewer said Falite had serviced their air conditioning for about 17 years before installing a replacement that November for a 19-year-old unit; another, writing in May 2026, said the company had kept their system going for more than six years and did not push a replacement before it was needed. In a 2022 review, a long-time customer whose rooftop unit quit mid-winter said the technician was there within two hours. Word of mouth runs the same way: a 2025 Salem thread called the price solid and the work quick and well done, and a 2024 Somerville commenter told a neighbour to ask for John for an estimate. Not every repair went well. Four one-star reviews posted the same day in April 2023 describe the same Cambridge boiler job during a cold snap — two weeks for a quote with no heat in the house, and, after the repair, a second company's safety inspection the reviewers say the boiler failed. In a June 2023 review, a customer whose new central system made rubbing sounds about five months after the 2022 install said they were told the company does not service the equipment. A 2024 reviewer gave two stars, calling the installation itself seamless but saying it took three separate visits once the system started failing that February. Two earlier customers disputed what they paid: one charged $1,900 in 2021 for heating work they said was not resolved, and one in 2022 who got a second opinion and said the part Falite wanted to replace was not the problem. This is a solid call for a new system or a maintenance plan, especially a Mitsubishi ductless setup — the company says it is a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor.
