A 2026 Reddit commenter on r/Connecticut suggested calling Barney Barker Oil to ask about its auto delivery. Its BBB grade is A+. A 2026 customer said the oil came one day after calling, just as the company said it would, but felt the fuel price was high for a bulk purchase. A 2024 customer who ran out of oil said they came the same day, were at the house within 2 hours of the call, and restarted the furnace. A 2023 customer wrote that they had used the company for 15 years after meeting the son, Mike, at a 7-11 in Newington, and that it never tried to force them into a contract or automatic refueling. A 2023 customer said the company helped them set up a customized payment plan for their oil delivery. A 2022 customer said they came out in frigid cold to make sure the family had oil. A 2025 customer said they were told the oil would come the next day, still had none on day three, and canceled, and only then heard that the company did not have enough drivers to service the routes. A 2025 customer said they had paid and were still waiting on oil or a callback after five days. A 2022 customer said money was taken from their account within a minute of talking to the company, before they could ask the price per gallon.

Oil delivery was one day after calling just like they said it would be. Service is quick and efficient but prices for fuel oil are higher than the price of highway diesel. I expected a better price than that for a bulk purchase.
5 days still waiting on oil or a callback. They got my money but not even having an emergency of no oil provides some comfort and empathy. Worst customer service and let's see how long to get my money back
This was my first time working with Barney Barker Oil, I called to schedule a heating oil delivery to my home. The person I talked with told me the oil would be delivered the next day. I waited the next day and no oil delivery. I called back to confirm if I was on the list for deliveries and was told I was. Day three came about and still no oil delivered. I called again to cancel the delivery, I had decided to go with another supplier. It was not until I canceled the delivery that I got explanation form them saying they did not have enough drivers to service the routes. This could have been explained up front, I would have been more understanding of situation given that it was close to the holidays.
They are absolutely amazing!!!! It’s truly a wonderful family based business that makes me feel like family as well… every time!!! They care about their customers and go out of their way to make sure they’re taken care of. I highly recommend them to everyone!!!
Great customer service, Tom is so nice! I ran out of oil and they came same day and restarted furnace and got me going. Little pricey but what can you do when you need heat. They were at my house within 2 hours from the call. Really nice people and prompt service. Thank you
