We hired Trident last year to figure out a solution for managing our (formerly) wet basement. They installed French drains and we are thrilled with the results. The job was not without hiccups - which is to be expected with a big job on an old house. To me, that’s the important test of a company - how they respond. Brady and team were incredibly responsive “I want you to be thrilled with this” - and we are. I waited a while to post this until we had some time with the system. We’ve gone through a major snowmelt last winter and some very wet times since, and the basement is dry. Couldn’t be happier.
This review may be long but it's worth the read. Stressful situation number 1. When my Class A finished basement office space got flooded from the heavy rains last spring, it was devastating. All of the plaster walls had to be chopped up to remove the wet insulation to guard against mold. Furniture, files and archive business records were destroyed and everything in the finished basement had to be thrown out. After this was done, the once very fine office space looked like a war zone as probably many of you have experienced when your basement gets wet. Stressful situation number 2. Like many of you, a solution to the problem had to be found. Could I find a basement water prevention expert that was fully competent and had the experience, manpower, and the know how to diagnose and fix the problem so that it never happens again? Do I call the guys on the radio? Do I call the guys who advertise on TV and the newspapers? NO!! Luckily, a finish carpenter friend of mine who worked for a well-known builder who does most of the high-end new construction and remodeling jobs in Newport on the most expensive homes gave me the contact information for Trident Waterproofing and its owner Brady Noel. Brady came out and explained to me in detail the how and whys of what caused the flood in my basement. He also went over in detail what the solution was and answered the million questions that I asked him. I never felt rushed. The thing I liked best about Brady Noel was that he could see that this whole thing really took a toll on me and he showed great empathy for the situation and reassured me a dozen times that I would never have to worry about water in the basement ever again. Stressful situation number 3. The fix to my problem was for Trident to saw cut the perimeter of the basement floor about 6 inches from the wall; electric jackhammer the concrete floor to allow them to put in the French drain piping around the perimeter, install 3 sump pumps, bring in crushed stone to cover the pipe and then pour new concrete over the pipes and finish it back to its original finish. You can imagine me thinking, omg, this is going to be a big, messy job. This is why you need to hire Trident to do your work. They kept the dust from the saws and the hammers to a minimum; they were very careful when walking through my finished space leading to the basement with their tools and materials. It wasn't a reckless demolition of my basement but rather a thoughtful and focused repair that took into account all of my concerns. When the job was complete, Brady Noel did a walkthrough with me to answer any additional questions I had. When they left my building, it just needed a light vacuuming of the floors and the walls. I hope this detailed review will help people who have experienced a flooded basement and its associated stresses feel less anxious in that there is a solution for you and there is a Class A contractor out there, Trident Waterproofing, who will make it all right.
This is a job I put off doing for a long time and I knew that I had to get it done. So tired of worrying about the basement every time it rained 4 or 5 inches in a week. Trident Waterproofing did a great job. This is hard work and the crew is profesional, friendly and did high quality work. Thanks so much.
Respectful and on time crew. Prices were very reasonable compared to what others quoted me. Happy with the work!
