Troy's Moving & Storage is a small, owner-run outfit with a long paper trail and a short review trail — accredited by the BBB since 2006 and carrying an A+ grade there, but with only 11 Google ratings behind its 4.8 average. The company runs out of Methuen and Lowell and says it has been family and locally owned since 1996, with 30-plus years of moving behind it. The work it advertises goes beyond boxes and couches: residential and commercial moves, piano moving, and jobs for museums and libraries, plus packing supplies and storage. Its stated service area is the Merrimack Valley and the towns north and west of it — Lowell, Andover, North Andover, Lawrence, Chelmsford, Billerica, Tewksbury, Dracut, Methuen and neighbors — and the site says it is licensed for moves into eight other states as well as Massachusetts. It describes itself as a licensed common carrier in the Commonwealth; that is the company's own statement, not something confirmed against a registry here. The handful of reviews that exist run positive and repeat the same two things: crews that show up on time and jobs that land at or under the estimate. That is a thin base to judge on, though, and the reviews are not recent. A reasonable call for a piano, a specialty item, or a Merrimack Valley household move where you want an owner who still walks the job himself. Given how few reviews there are, ask for recent local references and get the estimate and the hourly travel-time policy in writing before booking.

Would recommend anyone looking for a mover to call Troy first. Very good service and pricing.

This was my second move with Troy. Troy himself came out the day after I called to look over the scope of the job. On moving day, his team was super friendly and arrived on time (actually ten minutes early!!). The job was handled with care and professionalism. They made my move less stressful. The job also came in under estimate which was a nice surprise. I would recommend them for your moving needs!

They did a great job. The estimate was fair but the job moved a lot faster saving me money. The crew was a great group of guys.
