Sixty-four Google ratings averaging 4.9, and a striking split in what they get called for: a good half of the reviews describe a SunSetter awning going up over a deck in an afternoon, and the rest describe a house being rebuilt. Twomey & Legare works out of North Andover and has been a BBB-accredited business since June 2003, carrying an A+ grade. The awning side is the volume business, and the same names keep surfacing — Josh and Joel, sometimes a second Joel. Reviewers from 2022 through 2026 describe the same routine: a call ahead with an arrival window, three people working in unison, a walkthrough on how to operate the thing, all the packaging carried away. In a March 2025 review, a customer just back from Florida wrote that they fit her 17-foot awning in eight weeks early, on a short day. A May 2025 reviewer singled out the roof mounting specifically — they don't cut open the roof. The other half of the business is much heavier work. A February 2026 reviewer whose family home had burned a year earlier called Twomey & Legare first, because they had worked together before. Another customer, updating in April 2026, described a house taken down to the foundation and half a frame and rebuilt inside a year. In a December 2025 review a homeowner explained she found them by stopping at a waterfront teardown-and-rebuild down her street and hiring the crew doing it. A January 2025 reviewer walked through a gut kitchen renovation with Doug, the owner, who took the measurements himself. Additions, a primary bath, Azek decks, siding, roofing, a finished basement — all of it turns up across the 2023–2026 reviews with named crews attached. Two things worth pinning down. Lead time is the live gripe: a July 2026 reviewer, otherwise satisfied, dropped to four stars over nine weeks' wait for an awning. And they are not always the low bid — a May 2024 customer wrote that another company quoted less and he went with Twomey & Legare anyway, on reputation and on their being local. Get your install date in writing and compare the quote against one other. What stands behind both halves is people coming back. One 2024 reviewer had them put a roof and front doors on a previous home, watched them fix the small issues afterward, then sought them out years later to take a 1900s cottage down and rebuild it. If you want an awning installed by a crew that installs them constantly, or a contractor for an addition or a rebuild who will still take the call after handover, this is a deeply documented choice — confirm the schedule and the price before you sign.

I was very pleased at how neat and clean workers were! One minor problem that we discussed together and problem solved. Josh and the two other workers were very polite and professional I would hire them again! Josh called me to give me an update on the traffic congestion and a new arrive time circumstances out of their control!

I ordered a custom power Sunsetter awning from this company and just had it installed today . From the initial contact and conversations until the professional installation today, everything has been first class. I was able to order exactly what I wanted, their pricing was on point, and the installation crew was awesome. Absolutely happy with my decision to buy this awning and happy that I chose this company to do the job . Cannot recommend them enough . Thanks much!
