The most important thing to know before calling is a matter of public record rather than opinion. The Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registry lists United Family Roofing LLC under number 201030, and that registration is EXPIRED — it ran from February 2023 to 23 February 2025. In Massachusetts an HIC registration is what gives a homeowner access to the state Guaranty Fund if a residential job goes wrong, so a homeowner should ask the company directly for a current registration number and check it against the state registry before signing anything. The rest of the public record is thin.
