Call United Lynn Appliance Repair for a dead ice maker or a dishwasher that won't drain, and the story reviewers tell is usually the same: someone showed up, fixed it, done in a day. This Lynn, MA family shop covers Essex County for routine appliance breakdowns — refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers, ovens, stoves — and same-day service is the pitch both on its own site and across the directories that list it. The most recent account, from earlier this year, fits that pattern: a customer's dishwasher had stopped draining, needed a couple of days to get scheduled, and came back working. An older review tells a similar story about a technician named Charlie clearing a dead ice maker fast. But there's a rougher account sitting alongside those: someone who called back the day after booking an appointment says they were cussed at and called names by whoever picked up the phone, and walked away calling the whole interaction a mistake. Separately, the Better Business Bureau — where the company isn't accredited or rated — lists a complaint about a technician not calling ahead before arriving. Neither is about the repair work itself; both are about what happens on the phone or at the door. The star counts add a wrinkle of their own: Google shows 3.8 from 6 ratings, while a handful of directories quote 4.0 from 7. With only a few reviews split across sources, none of those numbers should carry much weight on their own. Before booking, it's worth asking who you'll be talking to if a follow-up call is needed, and pinning down an arrival window up front. For a straightforward appliance fix, the repairs themselves hold up — the phone side is the open question.

Called Cherry here in Newport News for a dishwasher that wouldn’t drain completely. It’s working properly now. Took a couple days to coordinate timing.

(no stars if i could) When I called to schedule an appointment, I was treated well, HOWEVER when I called the same number the next day, I was cussed out, told I never made an appointment and didn’t know what I was talking about (even though I called the same number), was called “retarded and stupid” and thrown more verbal assaults. I don’t understand why there’s a number listed that connects you to someone so vile. Trying to do business with them was a huge mistake that I won’t make again.
