In a May 2026 one-star Google review, a customer wrote that Bill of United We Stand LLC did a roof job for them that immediately had issues, and that it has been four to five years of back and forth since. The reviewer wrote that Bill spent a morning at the house with another professional he himself had referred them to, who raised concerns including spongy spots near the chimneys; Bill conceded it was an issue he needed to fix, but never showed up after saying his transmission went. The reviewer puts the leak down to flashing done incorrectly, which they say Bill accepted as the issue on the day he was there with Jeff, and describes more water damage since and "cheap, half-baked band-aid fixes." The same review lists what other companies said: the ridge vent hole cut through the plywood was too wide with a big hunk missing, the two front valleys were done differently, and the dormer shingles should go under the main roof. One quote to replace just the front roof came to $6,400. In a March 2025 review, a customer wrote that Bill runs an honest business, communicates well and worked with both their budget and timelines, and said they would use United We Stand for all construction projects going forward. A July 2023 reviewer described Bill and his crew as prompt and professional and planned to use them for any projects moving forward. A February 2025 reviewer wrote: "Whatever the job is they make it work!" Connecticut's registry shows the Dayville company's home improvement contractor licence, HIC.0615687, as active, held by United We Stand LLC. On Google it holds 4.4 stars from 16 ratings.
I had no choice but to pick 1 start but would not even have given that based on my experience if not required. Bill did a roof job for me and immediately had issues, so I contacted him. It has now been 4-5 years of back and forth. He likes to leave out key parts of our conversations when responding. He was last supposed to be here to fix issues last August but again had some issue come up and then I never heard from him again. He had spent the morning here with another professional that he, himself, had referred me to. This professional immediately voiced concerns he had found to me, including spongy spots near chimneys (visible from the ground spots where he would not even stand because of it) had also voiced his concerns with what he found when he came to Bill and then spent the time to investigate further with him. Bill conceded that it was an issue he needed to fix but again never showed up after saying his transmission went. I shouldn't have to pursue a self-proclaimed Christian business to get him to rectify his mistakes or to be honest. Multiple companies have said the same things. Bill claims he was present during the process but he was not, just as he previously stated he came to check things out and then said he actually sent one of his guys. If he were present during the installation how did he not see these issues and more? Why did he not have the building inspector come inspect as he is supposed to do? All I have asked is for him to do the right thing and fix the issues. He has instead done cheap, half-baked band-aid fixes. Now, there is more water damage. The leak is from the flashing that was done incorrectly, the day he was here with Jeff, he accepted that as the issue. Here is some of what every company said about the roof and then there are pictures also. The ridge vent hole that was cut through the plywood was done poorly. The cut out is too wide and a big hunk was missing. The 2 valleys in front are done differently. They should be the same. The shingles from dormer should go under main roof. To replace just the front roof. You are looking at 6,400. This includes 6 ft of premium ice and water shield, and Shingle Vent 2 ridge vent. As well as 3 sheets of new plywood.
I have enjoyed working with Bill and his crew. He runs an honest business and provides great communication. I have enjoyed his fairness and his ability to work with both my budget and desired timelines. I have been impressed with the scope of work him and his team are able to handle. I will continue to use United We Stand for all construction projects going forward.
These guys do great work! They have good old Yankee ingenuity! Whatever the job is they make it work! Highly recommend !!
Bill his crew are always prompt and professional. The level of work that they do is unlike any other contractor I’ve worked with in the past. Highly recommend and will be using them for any projects moving forward.
