I rarely write reviews, but in this case, I feel a responsibility to warn others about our experience with Up2date Remodeling so they can make a fully informed decision. We contracted with Up2date Remodeling for a basement renovation that the contract represented as a ~4-month project, supported by a reliable team. In reality, that representation did not materialize. The project was largely a one man show, managed by Kevin Lewis (who also goes by Sean, as we later learned), with subcontractors brought in intermittently rather than a consistent, coordinated team. Nadisha Lewis, his wife, represented herself as the owner of Up2date Remodeling. As the project progressed, performance deteriorated significantly. Multiple subcontractors, including the electrician, plumber, and tile specialists stopped coming to the job. We were later told by some of them that this was related to payment disputes on prior projects, with Kevin. This directly impacted our progress and left critical work incomplete. The original timeline was missed, followed by repeated delays with limited transparency. Communication became inconsistent, updates were difficult to obtain, and progress slowed to a near standstill. Work completed by Kevin later required rework due to quality concerns and lack of attention to detail. After approximately nine months, the contractor ceased work on the project entirely without resolution or completion. The site was left unfinished, and even tools and materials were abandoned. At that point, our basement was unusable, and the project remained incomplete for nearly a year, despite the majority of the contracted payment (approximately 90%) having already been made. Compounding the situation, the permitting had to be formally updated before we could engage a new contractor, resulting in additional months of delay before remediation work could even begin. This experience resulted in significant financial impact, extended disruption to our home, and considerable stress. Ultimately, we had to pursue legal steps to formally terminate the contract and move forward. Our interactions with Kevin & Nadisha Lewis did not reflect the level of professionalism, accountability, integrity or responsiveness we expected for a project of this scope. Trust and reliability are fundamental in construction, and in our experience, both were compromised. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to conduct thorough due diligence, verify current subcontractor stability and ensure clear contractual protections are in place. Based on our experience, this is not a contractor we would recommend.

Up2date Remodeling LLC was contracted to remodel my basement by adding a bathroom and redesigning the space to make it accommodating for a daycare. The work was done with finesse from the paper design to the finishing. I was highly impressed with the work and the expertise of the team. I am contracting them for my future projects.
