Vector Home Inspection is one man's second career. Glenn Grutta says he grew up working for his father in the early 1970s, ran his own construction company, and moved into home inspection with that build-side background behind him — which is the pitch: someone who has put houses together reading one back apart. The company itself is younger than the career. The Better Business Bureau lists Vector Home Inspection LLC of 301 Newbury St in Danvers as started in September 2016, with two employees and Grutta as owner. It has been BBB Accredited since April 2017 and carries an A+ rating there. The work on offer runs past the standard buyer inspection: pre-offer inspections, follow-up reinspections, seller and maintenance consultations, commercial building assessments, home-buyer seminars, and radon gas and water quality testing. Written customer history is thin — a 4.9 average across nine Google ratings, with only two people writing anything. In a 2024 review a buyer said they used him for three pre-inspections during their house hunt and called him an integral part of the search; a 2023 reviewer said they go out of their way to recommend him to people buying homes. He also turned up on the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents' podcast in 2023 and again in a 2025 episode, talking about what to ask a home inspector and what to watch for in a winter inspection. One thing to settle yourself: the site describes him as a Massachusetts Licensed Home Inspector and a Certified Mold Assessor but publishes no licence number, so check his standing directly with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Home Inspectors before you book. For a buyer who wants an inspector with construction experience and the option of radon and water testing in the same visit, he is a reasonable call — just ask for the licence number and a sample report first.
