Wellington G. Rossi Construction Systems is a West Roxbury general contractor that says it's been doing residential work under Wellington Rossi's name since 1999. It's a small, owner-run shop covering West Roxbury, Boston, Brookline, and a string of nearby towns from Chestnut Hill to Norwood, handling everyday remodeling, home repair, and masonry alongside the carpentry projects it's built its name on. The one detailed account on file is a striking one: in a 2021 review, a homeowner describes hiring Rossi to tear out and rebuild the front and back porches on both floors of a century-old two-family home, after interviewing several contractors for a project that size. The review calls out staying within budget and finishing on the promised timeline, with results the owner was happy with. Beyond that single review, most of what's known comes from directories: BuildZoom shows 247 projects associated with the business, and the Better Business Bureau lists it as an A+ building contractor, though not BBB-accredited. Its Massachusetts construction supervisor license is active and verified with the state; its separate Home Improvement Contractor registration, though, comes back expired on the same check — worth asking about before signing anything that falls under HIC rules. With only one written customer account to go on, it's worth asking for references for a project close to what you're planning. The porch rebuild shows real comfort with big structural jobs on older homes, but there isn't much else on file to confirm how that holds up across smaller or more recent work.
I am very happy with Wellington Rossi. I have a two-family home that is over 100 years old. The front and back porches on both floors were in need of total replacement. I searched for a reputable contractor for a long time interviewing several before finding Wellington. I felt I was taking a chance because it was a large project and I had to trust the one I selected to be trustworthy and competent and reliable and knowledgeable and experienced on such a job. Wellington exceeded my expectations. They stayed within their budget; they performed timely and as they projected; the porches came out beautiful. It is two years later and they came out to service me on a small issue I had with the porch. Wellington is a company I would highly recommend for any project. I have never been happier with a contractor.
