White's Plumbing & Heating runs out of Medford, handling the plumbing and heating side of home repairs — sink leaks, water heaters, oil-to-gas conversions — across a long list of towns in eastern Massachusetts. The company describes itself as family-run and says it's been in the heating trade for more than 34 years, though accounts of exactly when it started don't agree: D&B lists it as founded in 2004, while its BBB file dates the business back to 1986. Either way, it holds an active Massachusetts plumbing license and belongs to the Plumbing Heating and Cooling Contractors of Massachusetts. The most recent public review, from January 2026, isn't a good one: the customer says work went ahead on a sink repair without being asked first, and the bill landed at $250 in labor plus a $75 trip charge on what they figured was about a $30 part — enough that they called it insane. That's not the only place money has come up as a sore point; a couple of other independent write-ups tell a similar story about steep labor bills and fees added for visits that weren't scheduled, even if the details on those are thinner and undated. Set against that, the visible review history swings the other way about as often, split mostly along the same line: how the pricing and communication around a job went. Google shows a 3.8-star average, but it's built on only a dozen ratings total, so there isn't a deep, independent track record to lean on in either direction. What holds steady across sources is the actual work — sink and drain repairs, water heaters, septic and sewer jobs, oil-to-gas conversions — and a license that checks out as active. For a straightforward plumbing or heating call from a licensed, established local shop, this is a reasonable option — just get a written estimate before anyone starts, given how differently recent reviews have described the bill.

Yes White plumbing was quick come to look at my sink with a small leak. I was told a $75 trip charge, then charged $280 plus $75 trip charge. Without my approval they fixed it. It’s was a $30 part $250 for 35 minute labor. That is insane.

I have had many years of great experiences with White's Plumbing. In my opinion, nothing beats a family owned business. They are very transparent with you and provide great rates and exceptional service. I would always recommend them over any other plumbing & heating company.
