Tom Casaletto has been plumbing out of Medford since 1983 — 43 years, one employee, and 73 permitted projects on file around Boston and Newton. For most of that stretch, the people who wrote about him wrote warmly. On r/medfordma in July 2024 one resident called him "the best (and often busy for that reason)", and another listed Casaletto among their favorite local plumbers. In an April 2025 review a customer said he responds quickly, explains things well, and tells you what to do to avoid the same problem coming back. The recent turn is what needs weighing. The two newest reviews, both from April 2026, are one stars, and both describe the same shape of problem. One customer says the plumber spent a large chunk of the visit hunting for things in his truck — time they were charged for — worked at a pokey pace, and left them with cheap metal brackets rather than the standard sink mount they had been clear about needing. The other says he came three times without fixing the issue, each visit cost more, and the problem got worse. Against a written record of only six reviews stretching back to 2011, two current one-stars carry real weight. A one-man shop books like one, too: a July 2024 Reddit commenter said they had used Casaletto before but he wouldn't take on their water heater. If Tom is available and the job is squarely a plumbing repair, the older accounts describe someone punctual, honest and reasonably priced — a 2011 reviewer wrote that he arrived on time, had every part with him, and sent a bill they were happy to get. Given how recent and how specific the two complaints are, settle the scope, the parts, and how travel and search time are billed before he starts.
