Wise Choice Chimney Services

Wise Choice Chimney Services works out of 19 Main St in Hingham, and the jobs people describe calling them for are rarely the planned ones — a smoke chamber that needs repair, creosote finally dealt with after a season of putting it off, a sweep needed the same day. The company describes itself as family-owned and lists sweeping, inspection, repair, fireplace service, cap installation and emergency chimney care around Hingham. Its Google page carries a 5-star average from 19 ratings, all posted between late June and the end of August 2026. Price comes up in eight of them, usually as a quote that held: an August 2026 reviewer was given a flat price for a smoke chamber repair, another in early August said the price quoted was the price paid, and a late-June customer had chimney waterproofing knocked out in one visit at the quoted price. A July customer who had braced for the cost of relining a chimney wrote that the crew went over the bill with them. Speed shows up too. One August reviewer needed a chimney sweep at the last minute after other places turned the job down, and wrote that Wise Choice came the same day and walked through the bill line by line. The small courtesies get named more than once: shoe covers indoors during a July fireplace cleaning, the work area left cleaner than the crew found it in an August review. Scheduling is where the friction turns up. A July customer waited a day for an opening before a chimney inspection, an August customer found scheduling slower than hoped before a flue repair and parking tight, and another in July called the online booking clunky. All three still rated the work five stars. A good call for routine Hingham chimney work — sweeps, inspections, waterproofing — and for the repair you find out you need in a hurry. Ask what a flat quote covers if a sweep turns up a repair, and get licensing and insurance in writing before anyone starts.
