Worcester Marble & Granite

One reviewer says he compared prices and found "Home Depot wanted almost twice" what Worcester Marble & Granite charged for a similar job — a detail that turns up again and again alongside the same handful of names: Mike, Estefany and Stephanie, credited across dozens of countertop projects. Worcester Marble & Granite runs a stone shop and Route 114 showroom in Middleton that fabricates and installs marble, granite and quartz countertops, vanity tops, bar tops and fireplace surrounds, and the company says it's family-owned and has been doing this work for 25 years. Most of what customers describe is a straightforward, well-run countertop job: templates measured on schedule, installation finished in as little as three days, and more than one reviewer back for a second or third project — one mentions three separate home projects, another says she's used the company for years on both a kitchen counter and, later, a laundry room. A large granite slab that had sat on someone's deck for months was picked up and hauled within two hours of a morning call. Two things are worth knowing before you call. A federal OSHA inspection of the company's Middleton stone-cutting facility resulted in 21 citations and $18,300 in proposed penalties; no date or resolution is given for the inspection. Separately, a 2021 review from an elderly customer described installers who arrived four hours late, wouldn't return calls, damaged kitchen appliances and gouged the floors, and a 2023 review described being accused of theft during a dispute over the job. For a countertop, vanity top or fireplace surround, the day-to-day experience customers describe is fast and personal, with the same staff showing up review after review; given the OSHA record, it's worth asking directly how the shop handles stone-dust safety and site protection before work begins.
