Yellowtail Gutters is a one-person operation — owner Mike Rowland says on his site that he's been doing gutter work in the Brighton area for 25 years and does all the jobs himself. The four reviews on file are split between two very different accounts. In three reviews from November 2025, customers described Mike as prompt, professional, and thorough, one adding that he added a vinyl strip under the roof's drip edge to stop water from gushing over the gutters during rain — solving a specific overflow problem, not just cleaning. But a July 2025 review tells a different story: a customer paid $450 to seal a sagging, leaking gutter after Mike assured them it wouldn't leak again — and it started leaking within two months. The customer described asking repeatedly for a fix, first in December, then being told he'd come back in the spring, then getting pushed off again in May and June. With just four reviews on file and a detailed complaint about follow-through on a paid repair, it's worth asking pointed questions about a warranty on the work before hiring, especially for a repair rather than a routine cleaning.

Michael did a fantastic job on my gutters! I had water gushing down the gutters when it rained. Michael added a vinyl strip under the drip edge of the roof and into the gutter which solved the problem. He made it look easy but it was a lot of work. I'm very happy with the quality of the work and attention to detail. Michael is knowledgeable about gutters and house repairs. He has years of experience. Highly recommend Yellowtail.
An expensive lesson. I asked Mike to come look at a sagging gutter that was leaking and he suggested sealing the corner connections. He assured me "You will be happy. There will be no more leaking." He sealed the gutter and I paid $450. Within two months the gutter was leaking again (after rain had picked up again). I asked him to please come back to fix it. This was in early December. He called me and said he would come out in the spring when it was safe to go up again. I messaged him in May asking him to come out and he said he would over the weekend. Then I asked in late June and he said he would come out when the heatwave was done. That he would come by to repitch the gutter free of charge. I asked him for a refund in late July and he said he would come out the the next day. He did, and claimed that he stopped the leak but that the gutter was overflowing in that spot so, in his view he had done his job. I clarified with Mike that I paid him $450 to stop the gutter from dripping, the fact that he fixed the wrong issue doesn't change that. He new the gutter was pitched down that area in the first instance, even referred to it as the "sagging gutter", but assured me his sealant fix would work. It didn't. Now, he said the deck was unsafe to work on so he can't repitch the gutter and that he had done his job and that there were no refunds. In the end I paid $450 for a frustratingly long process that left me with the same problem I started with.
