Choosing the architect was the deciding factor for one Houzz reviewer in September 2024: Jamaal was the only one who really listened, they wrote, and he then ushered an expanded master bath and closet, an upstairs laundry and a one-bedroom ADU through a complicated town approval process.

In a 2020 review, a homeowner appreciated that he got both the existing space and the plan they envisioned right on the first iteration, with minimal back and forth. A January 2024 client who had just bought a first home wanted an open-concept main floor and had draft plans and then final plans promptly. A 2022 client taking a kitchen down to the studs hired the firm as architect to make sure new appliances, cabinets, flooring, lighting, a large window, a workstation sink and a custom hood all fit together, and in a May 2026 review a homeowner working on drawings for a basement renovation described the same kind of collaboration.
The build side shows up too, often in houses nobody moved out of. A February 2023 reviewer had two full baths done at once while living in the home with two high-anxiety dogs and a family of four on a temporary shower, and called the job on time and on budget. A November 2022 renovation and addition covered a kitchen, half bath, mudroom, primary suite and deck while the family stayed put with two young boys. Commercial work turns up as well: a Waltham barbershop, reception halls, and a commercial renovation described in December 2025.
Then the sore spot. Two reviewers, in December 2025 and May 2026, left one-star reviews about the driving of a company truck; the May writer described following too closely and weaving between lanes on the Mass Pike without a blinker, and told readers to go elsewhere. Both complaints are about behavior on the road rather than a job at the writer's house. Both sit on Google, where the average is 4.6 across 21 ratings; Houzz, Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0.
If you want the drawings, the permits and the crew to come from one place — an addition, a bathroom reconfiguration, an ADU — this is a fit. Decide up front whether you are buying design only or design through construction, get that scope written down, and ask who is running the site day to day.

We reached out to get a quote from Yusra when it was finally time to add on to our small 1960’s house. We needed more storage space, a second bathroom and for the outside of the home to give modern curb appeal.
