A Adam Construction is a one-person general contracting outfit run by Anthony Adam out of Somerville, working renovation and remodeling jobs across the Boston area. The company's own site says Adam trained as a carpenter in Burlington, Vermont, moved to Boston in 2002, and has spent the last twelve years doing framing, carpentry, decks, roofing, siding and insulation work. Its BuildZoom profile shows a real, sustained permit history: 17 building permits pulled since 2016, mostly in Somerville with a handful in Arlington, Cambridge, Middleton and Revere, earning a BuildZoom score of 97, in the 82nd percentile of Massachusetts contractors. The Better Business Bureau lists the company at an A+ grade and dates it to 2011, though it isn't a BBB-accredited business. A Somerville design studio's own project write-up credits the company as contractor on a full interior cottage renovation. The one thing worth weighing carefully: the business has just a single public rating, and it's serious. In a 2023 Google review, a customer describes Adam installing cameras in a child's bedroom without consent and photographing the home's front and back doors while there to fix a ceiling leak, and says he laughed it off when confronted. It's the only review on file, so there's no way to know how representative it is, but the specifics make it worth raising directly before letting anyone into occupied living spaces. License numbers are inconsistent across sources. The Better Business Bureau lists a Division of Occupational Licensure registration (CS-100853) and a Board of Building Regulations license (175613); the company's own website separately claims a home improvement contractor registration and a state license, but prints two different numbers for that license on its own pages. None of these were checked against the state registry here, so treat them as the company's and its directories' own claims rather than confirmed status. For a small, established Somerville renovation contractor with a real permit trail, this is one worth a direct conversation about that 2023 complaint and a call to the state to confirm the license number before signing anything.
“#### Somerville Cottage Full Interior Renovation Contractor: A. Adam Construction”
This man A Adam installed cameras in my kids bedroom without my consent. When I asked about it and confronted the owner he laugh and told me it wasn’t his problem. This man was very creepy and took pictures of my front and back door even though he was fixing a leak in the ceiling. This company is a danger and ran by human traffickers. I will contact the authorities
