Above The Norm is a Plymouth carpenter-and-roofer built around one owner's name: Norm DeCoste, who the company says has run it as a family-owned, owner-operated shop for about 25 years. Its own site describes a broad menu of hands-on carpentry work — trim, entry doors, windows, siding, decks, interior finish work, and basement remodels — alongside full roof replacements in asphalt, rubber, and cedar. Reviews are thin but consistently positive. Google shows a perfect 5-star average, though only from a handful of ratings, and the Better Business Bureau gives the company an A+ (it isn't BBB-accredited, a separate opt-in status many small operators skip). A LinkedIn recommendation from someone who's worked with Norm calls him capable of handling projects of any size with real craftsmanship — one voice, but a specific one. There isn't enough written review history yet to point to a particular recent job. The company's Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license (HIC 202742) is active and verified against the state registry, so the licensing checks out cleanly. Beyond that, there isn't much independent detail available — worth asking directly about recent project references and current pricing, since only a couple of homeowners have left write-ups so far. For carpentry and roofing work around Plymouth, Above The Norm is a long-tenured, licensed, owner-run option — just confirm a couple of recent references yourself given how few reviews exist before booking.

Cannot rave enough about the quality and knowledge Norm has! He helps understand the project and the process. Attention to detail is hands down the best we have experienced. I couldn't recommend Norm more for any roofing/gutter needs!!!!
