Advanced Basement Waterproofing is hired for wet basements: its Better Business Bureau profile lists basement waterproofing, foundation sealing and crack repair, French drain installation, hatchway repairs, mold remediation and restoration among the work it takes on. The BBB grades it A+ and lists it as an accredited business, accredited since April 2025. In a February 2023 Western Mass News segment on snowmelt flooding, sales manager Robert Giovanni spoke for the company's Chicopee operation. The hiring record runs deep and is unusually consistent about who shows up. Seventy-three reviews spanning 2022 to 2026 sit behind a 4.8-star Google average from 77 ratings, and the same names recur across years — Konstantin (written by customers as Constantine or Kanstantin), Sergey or Sergei on the crews, and Brian on the sales side. What homeowners praise most often is the visit before the job: reviewers this spring and summer describe a thorough inspection, a plain explanation of where the water is actually coming from, and an estimate that came with education rather than pressure, including one who wrote that he was told exactly what needed doing with no attempt to upsell. The larger jobs are described in detail too. Reviewers recount perimeter French drains feeding sump pumps, custom forms and six inches of poured concrete against bulging fieldstone walls in a 150-year-old basement (a 2025 review), and a full basement drain system plus two rebuilt rooms after storm damage (a 2024 review). Crews are repeatedly credited with protecting belongings from concrete dust and cleaning up daily, and in a 2025 account the team came back to reassess and redo about a third of a system that had leaked, under warranty. What is worth pinning down before booking is the work that happens after the waterproofing. A June 2026 reviewer rated responsiveness excellent and price average but workmanship below average on the restoration, citing a missing wall penetration and recessed electrical sockets. A July 2025 one-star account describes paying over $13,000 for an interior system, then finding water past ankle depth in the basement and getting no reply to repeated attempts to reach the company. A December 2023 one-star says a $12,000 hatch-and-mold job left the hatch still leaking and the mold back, with an unresolved argument over appointment times, and a March 2023 one-star alleges masonry finished by hand rather than with proper tools and disputed billing for commute hours. They are a reasonable call for diagnosing a wet basement and installing drains, sump pumps and mold remediation, especially if you want the problem explained before you commit. Get the restoration and carpentry scope written into the contract, confirm how warranty callbacks are handled, and verify the HIC registrations yourself with the state — the licence numbers on the BBB page are the directory's listing, not a verified credential.
“We brought our questions to Robert Giovanni, the sales manager at Advanced Basement Waterproofing Chicopee.”
Konstantin was amazing. He did an inspection on my leaking bulkhead and he was very knowledgeable and professional. You can tell he takes great pride in helping customers take pride and safety in their homes. I would highly recommend Advanced Basement Waterproofing. Make sure to ask to have Konstantin come do your inspection. His kindness and knowledge were truly appreciated.
Konstantin provided a very a fair estimate, but more importantly he took the time to explain what was happening, and why it was happening. I appreciated that he gave education and not just a price tag! He was very nice and respectful also, which is always important when having a contractor in your home. He also made it clear he's available for questions at any point, which is also very comforting when working with a contractor.
KANSTANTIN T. CAME BY TODAY, about 2Hrs after a called Advanced Basement Waterproofing today about water in our basement. 3 years we had a French drain system put around the entire foundation of our house, to stop water from eroding our foundation. no more water in our cellar for 3 years, until the past storms over the last couple of weeks. Then we spotted moisture on the floor of our cellar on the north side of the house. I looked to see where it could be coming from, did not see anything so i called ABW to make a report and they came out to find the problem. About 45 minutes later found the problem and not with the French drain system but a bag of pet friendly ice melt in our entry way that started melting from all the heat and humidity. Kanstantin was very nice and professional in finding where the moisture was coming from. I am very happy with there service and the knowledge that they stand behind their work 100%
Responsiveness and Timeliness = Excellent Price = Average Workmanship = Below Average The restoration could have been better. I discussed once with Sergi and twice with the carpenter that I needed a hole in the wall between the room and the closet to run wires for my aquarium. The hole had been there prior to the restoration. The carpenter did not provide the hole. I had to cut a hole in the wall myself. Some of the electrical sockets are now slightly recessed. The sockets were flush with the walls before the restoration. The cords of our lamps and other electrical appliances need to occasionally be jiggled to make proper electrical connections. The door to the main water meter, which closed properly before the restoration, no longer closed properly after the restoration. I had to do additional carpentry work myself. One of the wall corners had metal trim sticking out which I had to repair and spackle myself. I believe that if Sergi or another representative from management inspected the restoration and discussed it with me, the conditions in question would have been addressed. However, there was no closure. The carpenter merely disappeared when he deemed the restoration to be complete. I was pleased with how quickly the Advanced Basement Waterproofing team responded to our situation. They rescued our home from a dire situation. I would actually use them again. However, I would hold them accountable and insist on management approval of the completed work.
Konstantin T. came to look at the mold in our bathroom. He gave an honest, thorough assessment and educated us on how to maintain and prevent a mold-free bathroom environment. He was very personable and funny. Thanks, Konstantin! We will be looking forward to using your services again in the future.
