In a 2016 Houzz review, a designer described working with Amber Construction on 5,000 square feet of new construction plus the renovation of an existing pool house, finished on budget under a lump-sum contract and on deadline. That designer named Dennis and Tim as easy to work with and said the crew of carpenters was skilled at traditional detailing and quick with the punch list at the end. Amber Construction & Design is based on River Road in Collinsville, Connecticut. On Houzz it calls itself a design-build firm that has been building and remodeling homes for over 30 years in Connecticut and New York, and its own site says it specializes in luxury custom home construction and renovation. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0521676, is active and held by Amber Construction & Design Inc. In October 2016 a Houzz customer praised the company's craftsmanship "from design to implementation" and wrote that they now had their "dream kitchen" and a new master bedroom and bath. It holds 5 stars from 3 Google ratings and 5.0 from 2 on Houzz.

As a designer, I had the pleasure of working with Amber Construction on a 5,000 sq/ft new construction–plus the renovation of an existing pool house. Dennis and Tim were great to work with, both were very accommodating and professional. Their crew of carpenters are highly skilled and experienced with traditional detailing. When it came to the end of the project they were quick to deal with punch list items and wrap up any loose ends. They worked with a Lump Sum Contract and finished the work on budget and met the deadline. We're looking forward to our next project with Amber Construction.
