Anderson Handyman Services is a young, small operation on Summer Ave in Reading, run by Drew Anderson — a Reading Memorial High School graduate who, The Reading Post reported in February 2023, started the business in September 2020 rather than going to college. The company describes itself as family-run, with Drew's father Jake and brothers Greg and Tristan on the team, and says it works across Reading, North Reading, Andover, Stoneham, Woburn and Wakefield. When the work happens, customers describe it well. A January 2025 reviewer hired the company to run new electrical circuits, rework cabinetry and install a range, and said Drew quoted the job quickly, was clear about pricing and finished inside the estimated time — with his father, whom the reviewer described as a master electrician, working alongside him on a Sunday. A September 2024 customer had a stair railing that had pulled out of the wall put back within a few days and called the price reasonable. Back in August 2022, another homeowner started with window air conditioners and ended up having a spare bedroom renovated floor to ceiling. The thing to weigh against that is getting hold of them. Two of the five comments on file are one-star, and both are about silence rather than workmanship: a December 2022 customer said texts, email and voicemail all went unanswered, and in April 2026 someone describing a two-bathtub caulking job said photos were requested for a quote and then neither the quote nor a return call arrived. That April complaint is the most recent thing written about the business. BBB lists the company as not accredited while showing an A+ grade, records one employee, and gives a start date of 5 May 2021 — later than the September 2020 the local paper reported. For small carpentry, electrical and repair jobs around Reading this is a well-reviewed one-man-plus-family outfit; just get the quote confirmed in writing, and follow up in person if a call goes unanswered.

I called for a repair and "Drew" said he could do the job on the following week. He asked me to send him a few photos and he would give me the price. I sent the photos and he never responded and I made two follow up calls to see if he got the photos and when he was available and he never responded to my call! Not a good way to run a business. He could have at least called to say he did not want to do the job and to find someone else. It was a simple caulking job for two bathtubs in my client's house and they were both spotless clean so I have no idea why he never responded! No price given either. So much for Anderson Handyman Services.
Really excellent service and workmanship, great family business. Drew Anderson came out quickly to quote a job involving running new electrical circuits, cabinetry rework and a range install. Drew was very transparent about pricing and answered all my questions as to how he would do the job. His time estimate for the work was also spot on. Drew and his father (who is a master electrician) came on a Sunday and were in and out in 3 and a half hours, including a thorough cleaning the work area. Highly recommended!
I hired Drew to fix a stair railing that had pulled out of the wall. He came within a few days and finished the job in an afternoon. Walked me through all the steps, cleaned the area thoroughly, and left it looking better than before. Reasonably priced too. Highly recommended.
Waiting for a response- text e-mail and left voicemail no response very poor communication
First contacted Drew to install window air conditioners. Then had some small repairs for him to do up to the recent floor to ceiling renovation of the spare bedroom. Drew and his crew are professional, pleasant and very detail oriented. Would highly recommend.
