Aquaknot Pools has been building and maintaining pools out of Weymouth since well before 1999, when the Better Business Bureau first accredited it — it holds an active, state-verified Massachusetts home improvement contractor license, and its Houzz profile lists a run of industry recognition: a 2017 Boston Magazine Best of Boston award for pool installation and design, a 2016 World's Greatest Pool award from Pebble Technology International, and Genesis 3 and Carecraft Member certifications. The company builds custom inground gunite pools and spas and runs both residential and commercial service divisions. Reviews from 2022 through 2024 describe a genuinely different company than the one showing up lately: homeowner after homeowner credits Kristine, who managed several installs, with understanding a family's design vision, keeping a build honest with no hard sell, and calmly absorbing schedule disruptions caused by other contractors. A 2022 review described a 25,000-gallon gunite pool build she oversaw as the nicest pool the family had ever swum in, down to coordinating the decking subcontractor. A 2018 Houzz review going back further described the same pattern — professional, on time, and still doing weekly maintenance visits years after the original build. The picture has turned sharply this year: five of the last seven reviews, all between April and August 2026, are negative. A July 2026 review described a 2025 pool "rebuild" that leaked from a misinstalled light fixture and left the liner visibly warped within a year. Other 2026 reviews describe office staff who don't follow through and get defensive when pressed, technicians who showed up hours late without a courtesy call, and a leak that appeared near a pump the company itself had serviced the year before, diagnosed over the phone rather than in person. A 2024 review described a similar breakdown around a pool closing: a signed date the crew missed, a cover left partly unanchored after the company closed the pool while the homeowner was out, and an unapologetic response from the office when it was raised. The license is real and the early build reviews are detailed and consistently strong, but the volume and consistency of the complaints since spring 2026 are hard to wave off — worth asking directly how a current job would be staffed and who to call if something goes wrong before signing a contract, especially for a full renovation or new build.
We have been customers of Aquaknot for decades. Recently we had problems with an old pool and it was a bit of a challenge to come up with a solution but Erika, Ralph and Brian never gave up on us. Others on the team Dave, Mike, Omar, Eric, Will came too. So to say we had the whole team at one point would be correct. They are timely thanks to schedule oversight by Erika. The team there including Nicole and Katie always try to help. We are very grateful. Carol
We have a home in Osterville and Aquaknots Weymouth “rebuilt” it in 2025. They were delayed, they had a leak from the start after installing the lining due a misinatallation of a light fixture and as the images show within 1 year the lining is completely warped. They are horrible and were chosen by Sudbury Design who I am typically pleased with. Never use aquaknots. They were unprofessional and unakilled.
Would have given 0 stars if Google would allow it. The company is absolutely horrible to deal with. The office staff do not take any responsibility for their actions (or should I say non-actions because they don’t do anything they say they will) when you call to follow up on something you’re only met with attitude. Zero skills in customer service. Would NOT recommend for anything.
Not impressed.
Unfortunately, my family did not have the best experience. We were told the techs would be at our house "afternoon" and we had to call the company, then the techs came around 4:30/4:45p (def after noon, but would have appreciated a courtesy call for an updated timeline). We already had our cover off, so all the techs really did was put the ladders in the peg holes, take pictures of the pool, and assessed the filter. We were told that we needed "o-rings" and then the tech drilled back the filter. Our pool did not have enough water to filter, so no other work was done at that time. My husband and I ended up having to purchase o-rings at Home Depot, take the filter apart again, apply the o-rings, then put the filter back together. When we got our pool opening bill, it was $400. I am disappointed with this price since all that was done was an assessment, putting two ladders into the ground, and the techs telling us of the work that my husband and I needed to complete a pool opening.
