Nick Aucoin runs this one-electrician shop out of Newton, and the calls that keep coming are the everyday kind — a light fixture that needs replacing, an outlet that needs moving, a garage that needs an EV charger. Across Google, Angi and HomeAdvisor the numbers line up almost exactly: 4.9 to 5 stars over dozens of ratings, and the same handful of words keeps showing up in the reviews — responsive, quick, cleaned up when he was done. The written record backs that up with specifics rather than just adjectives. Reviewers describe him showing up the same day for an urgent repair, calling back within minutes to fix a run of dead outlets in under an hour, and following up a week later to check the work held. A 2025 review recounts converting an old fuse box to a breaker panel; another says he installed a garage EV charger and called it 'professional, courteous, efficient, and affordable.' The one 4-star review, from March 2024, still recommends him after he wired a heat pump water heater and stayed reachable by phone throughout. His Massachusetts electrician license (#58856) is active and registered to him by name, and it's the same number Angi lists for the business — the state and the directory agree. Before calling, it's worth knowing that not every job moves at the pace most of these reviews suggest: HomeAdvisor's own listing summary flags a job that ran longer than the original estimate, so it's fair to ask upfront how firm a quoted timeline is. For a homeowner with a contained electrical job — a stubborn outlet, a fixture swap, an EV charger install — Aucoin looks like a well-documented call: licensed, reviewed consistently well over more than two years, and reachable enough that people keep coming back to him for the next small project too.
Had Aucoin come in to repair an overhead light fixture and install a new outlet. We were extremely pleased with the communication, how quickly they were able to come out, and the quality of the work. Would definitely recommend them and would hire them again.
Eric was responsive, easy to work with, and would recommend him to anyone.
Nick installed an outlet under my sink and he paid attention to detail. I was happy with the result.
