Bartels Pools customers describe returning for service on pools installed years earlier. The Springfield company tells the Better Business Bureau it offers swimming-pool contracting, design, service and repair, along with pool-cover sales and service. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. Google reports 4.1 stars from nine ratings. In a July 2019 Google review, one customer said Bartels had installed their inground pool in the early 1980s and that it remained in good condition. They returned to the company for a filter and liner replacement after leaving the pool unopened for four or five years. The customer praised the result, speed and cleanup, and said the company worked with them on price. Another customer writing in May 2019 said Bob had installed their pool 15 years earlier and praised the price and promptness of later service. A September 2021 customer described technicians visiting weeks ahead of a seasonal pool closing to check for unusual features. The closing itself was smooth and neat, according to that customer. An April 2024 Google reviewer praised the service and Cindy's friendliness. There is also an older communication complaint. In a May 2018 Google review, a customer said three calls went unreturned and that the company twice agreed to stop by but did not arrive or follow up.

First time with Bartels after 40+ years of pool ownership. We have had a variety of pool contractors, regarding whom additional comment might be quite variable. For us, this "first time" was a terrific service experience -- including the initial office call,. The pool techs actually "visited" our pool weeks ahead (to check for unusual features affecting pool-close). Seasonal closure of our pool was remarkably smooth and neat. So far, only superlatives. I feel they can be trusted to take care of your pool.
They installed our inground in the early 80s & it’s still beautiful with no issues. We did replace our filter & liner this year( we had not opened our pool in 4-5years it was a mess) & choose to use them again. It came out beautiful! They were fast, friendly, cleaned up after themselves & worked with us on price. We could not be happier. Highly recommend them. Wish I could post pictures of our before and after.
I had Bob install my pool 15 years ago.( was recommended by my neighbor) Great job at a fair price and when I need service done , there very promp and again fair price. I highly recommend them.
Called this company 3 times of which never got a call back. Called again, this time co said they would be at my address. Never showed up and never even got a Follow up call. Two times agreed to stop by , never did. Unreliable. Terrible Cs Service.
