Todd Goff runs a one-person home inspection practice out of Cohasset, covering the South Shore of Boston. His own site points to an unusual credential for the trade: training as an architectural historian, layered onto more than 25 years inspecting residential buildings, including older and historic homes in a region full of them. He holds Massachusetts Home Inspector's License #721, and the business is owner-operated — it's Goff himself showing up to the inspection, not a rotating crew. That matters for a trade where the inspector's own eye is the product. There isn't much of an independent track record to check yet. Google shows a single 5-star rating, and no BBB, Angi, Houzz, or Thumbtack profile turned up for the business at all. None of that means the work is suspect, but it does mean a homeowner is relying mostly on Goff's own account of his experience rather than a deep public review history. He's a reasonable call for someone buying an older or historic South Shore property who wants an inspector fluent in period construction — just ask for a sample report and recent references directly, since the public record here is thin.
