Blackdog Design/Build/Remodel

We had our basement redone with Black Dog and we are very happy with how the project went and how the basement turned out! Donna and Bennet helped us manage this project. We ended up completely demoing the old DIY'd basement to the foundation and built out the basement to extend our living space and make the laundry/utility room a lot more comfortable. We were really happy with the builders; they were professional, courteous, and very skilled. The project went smoothly and we are now fully enjoying the new space! Definitely the best group we've had the chance to work with so far in the New England area. We'll be looking forward to doing another project with Black Dog in the future.

We really enjoyed working with Blackdog. Our designer, John, was incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, and most importantly patient through our twists and turns of design preferences and timing. When we ultimately pulled the trigger on the project, the team was thoroughly professional, overdelivered on timing expectations, and did a fantastic job. Bree was a stellar project manager and made sure that everything came out as planned and tied up any loose ends. Blackdog was more expensive than some alternatives, but the professionalism and peace of mind that the job was turnkey, done quickly and to perfection made it clearly the right choice - and we're thrilled we made it!

We have used Blackdog Builders for two projects. The first was a full kitchen and laundry room renovation completed 1.5 years ago and another was a smaller job remodeling a home office space last summer. Our designer for both projects was Jane, who was a pleasure to work with. During the design phase of the project, we provided Jane with a general vision of how we wanted to transform the space and a handful of specific requirements. Jane easily understood our vision and walked us through all the detailed design decisions, accompanying us to look at tile, sinks, faucets, and cabinets. Jane made an overwhelming process of making design decisions extremely manageable. For all of our projects, we are incredibly satisfied with how the designs on paper manifested into rooms in our home that we love spending time in. We had different lead carpenters on each project and they were both great guys who were reliable and easy to communicate with. For the most part we thought the subcontractors brought in by Black Dog were great (electricians, painter). We encountered a reliability and quality issue with one subcontractor hired to do the kitchen backsplash tiling. We appreciated that Black Dog brought in a different tiling contractor in a reasonable time frame. We also had a good experience working with the project manager from Blackdog. He was very effective at preparing us for different phases of the project and explaining issues as they arose throughout the project, especially ones that required us to make decisions.
