A boiler replacement within 24 hours is one customer’s account of Borselle Plumbing and Heating’s work. Writing in September 2023, they said Joe and the team removed and replaced a 50-year-old unit during the coldest week of winter, leaving a clean installation. They also reported heating costs about 40% lower afterward; that figure is the customer’s experience. The Newington business describes itself on HomeAdvisor as having more than 30 years of local experience in plumbing, heating, and kitchen and bath remodeling. Google shows 5 stars from three ratings, while HomeAdvisor shows 4.9 from 34. Written reviews span 2016–2024. Several older customers describe the work in detail. In July 2021, a homeowner said Joe identified a dangerous water-heater installation without a pressure relief valve, then returned with Larry the next day. They said the estimate was clear and the bill matched it apart from a small additional toilet repair. Another July 2021 customer described a toilet and flange replacement, discussion of options and possible costs, and a $529 bill at the low end of the quoted ranges. They said the crew removed the trash and left the area clean. A November 2017 customer described converting from an oil-fired boiler to gas, with a new boiler and indirect hot-water system completed on time. A January 2017 customer credited Joe with diagnosing a waterlogged expansion tank and replacing it along with aging heating-system components, then refilling, purging and testing the system. There are concrete complaints, too. In March 2020, a customer disputed an $808 toilet replacement and said a shower-drain repair leaked again after two weeks. They reported a total bill of $1,316.39 and said they were left with a leak and an opening in the bathroom ceiling. A January 2020 customer said the job was postponed twice because of company constraints, though things seemed okay after completion. A February 2017 customer praised the work but described a weather rescheduling followed by a start near noon instead of 8:30 a.m., complicating notice to tenants about shutting off water.
Very professional and experienced. Would highly recommend them
Joe responded to my urgent need of a 50 year old boiler in need of replacement. Of course, during coldest week of the winter. Had old unit removed & replaced within 24 hours! Saved our family from a very cold night. Very clean & professional installation. We are saving about 40% on heating costs already! It will pay for itself in no time. Thanks Joe & the team! -Norby
Joe and Larry were wonderful! We bought a new house that needed work, including a serious issue with how our water heater was installed (without a pressure release valve!). Joe came by and looked at it all and because the situation was dangerous he and Larry came the very next day. Their estimate was clear and the job came in at the estimate (with one small additional nal.repair they found taking a part the toilet.). They walked me through everything and made me feel at ease. These are our new go-to plumbers!!
It went very well. They were the first and only plumbers to respond to the project. It was just before the 4th of July and the appointment was made for Tuesday the 6th. I was called that morning by them to see if they could come earlier because they had finish the job before me. I said yes and they arrived 20 min ahead of time. First thing that was done was examining what I had purchased. When that was okay the old toilet was removed. The flange needed to be replaced. I had figured that since the toilet was very loose on the floor. We discussed options and possible problems with each step. I was quoted a range of cost above the quote of project. It seemed very reasonable. When it was done the low numbers of both quotes were used and I was charged $529 which word for me. All trash was removed and the area was left very clean. We were able to discuss next steps I was thinking of for that bathroom. I was giving some very good advice. Excellent work! I recommend them and I will used them again when they he time comes
We had a leak from our upstairs shower and had a toilet leak on our main floor. We were told the toilet should be replaced. However, we did not want, or ask for a $400 plus toilet they snuck in. The total price for the toilet and installation was a $808. Absurd. They then opened the ceiling to fix the leak in the shower which was from a loose fitting in the drain. They found concrete slab in the ceiling and wondered for a while how they were going to get through that. That cost $222.50 to stair at the ceiling. They finally said they couldn't and offered to simply bond the shower strainer from the shower floor. They basically added some epoxy and silicone sealant. For that we were charged a total of $508. It started leaking again after two weeks. The quick fix only redirected the water to leak elsewhere. The total bill was $1,316.39 Ridiculous and a waste of time and money. I am left with a leak and a hole in the sheetrock in my main floor bath ceiling. They should have advised us they couldn't do the work as soon as they saw the concrete ceiling, charged us for a service call and left. Instead we were gauged. Do not use this company.
