Boston Roofing and Gutters is based in Boston and works across the metro area, with third-party listings tying the name to roof work and to the gutter and downspout jobs that share its name. A directory profile covering its Quincy-area presence calls it a gutter specialist known for same-day or one-day turnarounds, and other listings describe roof replacement, roof repair, gutter installation and siding work for both houses and commercial buildings. The Better Business Bureau lists the company as ten years in business and gives it an A+ letter grade — worth noting that grade reflects a clean complaint history rather than a vetted membership, since the company has not sought BBB accreditation. Where the picture gets harder to pin down is the star ratings. On Google, the company sits at 2.9 out of 5 across 13 ratings, below what most homeowners look for, and its one review with enough text to score read as sharply negative. That doesn't line up with a separate regional directory showing a 5.0-star average from five reviews and warm praise for pricing and communication — two accounts of the same business that disagree with each other. Before booking, it's worth asking for a recent reference and getting current pricing in writing: the written record here is thin, and the ratings available don't agree on how this company is actually performing right now.

Carroll did a roof replacement two years ago for me. Highly recommend staying away from them. We had myriad issues with the work and they also attempted to charge us for things that were included in the contract. As part of the work, they also replaced 5 skylights - we just flew a drone over our building that showed all 5 old skylights still on top of our roof (2 years later) just sitting waiting to be blown away by high winds. Called Carroll to have them removed and all numbers are disconnected. Hopefully they're out of business.
