Boston Tank Swap is a small local team serving Boston, Newton, Cambridge, Somerville, Watertown, and nearby communities. The company says water heater replacement is its core service, with gas and electric tank systems, tankless installations, and work overseen by a licensed Master Plumber. Recent Google reviews consistently describe fast, professional water-heater replacements, clear explanations, fair pricing, and careful cleanup. Customers also mention same-day or weekend response, tankless upgrades, maintenance, boiler work, and coordination for rental properties. Google shows 27 five-star ratings, while BBB lists an A- grade and one year in business. In a May 2026 r/boston thread, a poster reported paying $2600 for a gas water heater replacement including removal of the old one and recommended the company as super fast. The company’s own site also lists tankless flush and maintenance, boiler and combi-boiler installation, commercial water-heater replacement, whole-house water filters, and heat-pump water heaters. Ask about the exact equipment, permitting, warranty, and service area for your project. Boston Tank Swap is a strong fit for homeowners needing urgent tank replacement, tankless installation, or related hot-water work who value quick communication and upfront pricing.

Great job, good price, quick to respond to questions and quote, showed up fast and did a great job.
Easily the best experience I've had with someone working on my home. The team was responsive fair and did a great job.
Boston Tank Swap did an outstanding job servicing my combination Navien system. They were professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to thoroughly inspect and maintain everything to ensure it was running efficiently. They explained what they were doing and answered all of my questions. It’s refreshing to work with a company that is reliable, honest, and clearly takes pride in the quality of their work. I highly recommend Boston Tank Swap to anyone looking for expert maintenance or service on a Navien heating and hot water system!
Very happy with the quality of the work by Master Plumber David to install an electric hot water heater. Plumber called when he was on the way, and he put protective covering down in the hallway to protect the floor. The price was really good! We are located in the Northshore area and we are in their coverage area. Highly recommend Boston Tank Swap.
Boston Tank Swap did a terrific job delivering and installing our new hot water tank. Steve and Jason were prompt, professional, and explained the entire process clearly. They even hauled away our old unit, making everything hassle-free. I highly recommend Boston Tank Swap to anyone in need of a new hot water tank.
