- 2023 renovation — praised for quality work during a stressful project
- 2025 inquiry — no response via Thumbtack or phone, per review
Bright Expert Construction is a Somerville general contractor founded and led by Gleidson Costa De Sousa, offering kitchen remodeling, interior renovation, painting, roofing, driveway and deck work. The company's own site traces its start to a paint job taken in a Boston rental unit in the late 1990s and says it's been in business 20 years; its Thumbtack profile instead lists 7 years in business. The two reviews on file tell different stories. In a 2023 review, a homeowner described a stressful renovation and called it the best contractor experience they'd had, praising the quality of the work. In a 2025 review, a different customer said the company never responded to a Thumbtack inquiry for general contracting work, either through the platform or the phone number in its auto-reply. With only two reviews on file, it's worth confirming responsiveness directly before relying on the initial contact process.

I had some work done a couple of months ago on my one of my homes. In the midst of such a stressful situation and turbulent time in my life, I couldn't have selected a better contractor than Gleidson and his team of experts to get the job done. The quality of the work is unmatched, unlike any other previous experiences I've had with contractors. Dealing with contractors can be overwhelming and pricy, but in Bright Expert Construction you have a company that delivers immeasurable value. You deal with people who truly care about the quality of their work and cater to the exact needs of your particular home. Would recommend to anyone looking to do some work on their house or apartment, whether it is intended for small touches or bigger jobs. Will definitely be using Bright Expert Construction for work on my other homes later this year! Thank you Gleidson and his team, you rock!!!
