Cal's Cabinets, Counters, Floors and More describes itself as a local family-owned business, lists Laconia, Loudon and Concord as its service area, and says it has been in business for 20 years. A 2024 Google customer said Cal's did the job installing their quartz counters and praised it. A recent kitchen update went badly. The customer said Cal's told them the project would take about 10 days and it took almost 30, and that the owner, Nick, was completely undependable with communication. They wrote that they were told Cal's would be there first thing in the morning, then got a call at 11am saying they went to another job, and that a request for a reduction on the install fees was refused. Two weeks after Cal's "finished", the customer said, the pipes in the sink failed and spilled water under the new cabinets. In an update, the same customer said the kitchen sink pipe failed again, that the plumber they hired said the incorrect piping was used, and that the cabinets will need to be fixed. The customer also wrote that Nick reached out a few times asking them to change the review.
We used Cal's to update our kitchen and in the beginning things we're going smoothly. They told us it would take about 10 days for the project to be completed. The total time was almost 30 days. The communication between Jade their office manager was good, but the owner Nick is completely undependable with communication. We had several times we were told we'd be contacted shortly only to have to call back days later. We had several times we were told they'd be there first thing in the morning, to get a call at 11am saying they went to another job. We asked for a reduction on the install fees due to going way over time, and communication issues and we're told to pay the full amount as it's wasn't their fault. They can't manage their schedule correctly, and the work is sub par. 2 weeks after they "finished" the pipes in the sink failed spilling water under the new cabinets, and parts of the work are falling apart. Do yourself a favor, every other site for reviews has them at 1 or 2 stars. Save yourself the aggravation and hire someone else. Learn from our mistake, it wasn't worth the money "saved" Updated 9/14/2026. So Nick reached out to us a few times to askus to change the review in consideration of all the "accommodations they made for our growing family" If i could give lower than 1 star I would. The kitchen sink pipe failed again, wasn't properly fixed last time. That's 2 failed repairs by Nick. In his own words he stands by his work. Which caused damage to the cabinets which will need to be fixed after only six months. They used the incorrect piping per the professional plumber we hired to fix this. Anyone who reads this should be aware of the work he stands by, poor quality and poor craftsmanship, poor communication, and begging to not be held accountable.
Cal’s did an amazing job installing our quartz counters.
