Castner Carpentry works the big end of residential construction in Marblehead — new home builds, additions, and kitchen and bathroom remodels. Chris Castner owns and runs it, and the company says he founded it in 2000 after a lifetime of carpentry and construction work. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #189280, is active on the state registry. The Better Business Bureau lists the business with two employees. For a homeowner planning an addition or a ground-up build on the North Shore, a small, owner-run shop with a live registration is a reasonable first call. Ask to walk a recent project nearby, confirm who will be running the site day to day, and get the scope, schedule and payment terms in writing before anything is signed.
